This is the fifth month of the Disney Tsum Tsum Subscription Box. Each parcel contains one small tsum tsum plush (small is a new size currently only available in this subscription) and one coordinating, subscription exclusive mini tsum tsum plush.

My kids have started collecting tsum tsums and enjoy playing with them so we were excited to see what would be featured this month. Disney does not release spoilers for this box.

Here is what we saw when we looked down into the box.

How adorable is this?! Dumbo and Timothy Q. Mouse! Ah Dumbo, an oldie, but a goodie! I love how Disney has been working both the classics (Mickey, Minnie, Dumbo) and newer favorites (Frozen, The Lion King) into this subscription box! Dumbo was released in 1941 and, like the movie featured in last month’s subscription box, is an Academy Award winner.

The packaging here is great! It is cute and fun. The outside box fits neatly around the inside box which came in perfect condition. If you are a collector, this is important and Disney does this right.

Timothy is 3 ½ inches long. Dumbo is 7 ½ inches long. You can see the scale better here in this picture of my 4 year old daughter stacking the tsum tsums. (She was so excited for this subscription box to arrive she convinced my husband to open my Birchbox yesterday before I got home just in case there might possibly be a mini tsum tsum in there. Luckily, she only had to wait until today.)

Here is a shot with my 7 year old daughter who was just about to fall asleep when I took this photo.

The mini plush usually sell individually for $5.95. The small size is new and currently only featured in this subscription box so an exact price is not available for that size. For reference, the slightly larger medium size, which is 11 inches, usually sells individually for $12.95, so the small should be somewhere in between. So why is this subscription box $24.95? I am not sure, but my best guess is that it is because the small size plush is unique, the mini plush design is exclusive to the subscription, the price includes shipping, and tsum tsums are cute and collectible. Also Disney. Put those together and it will sell like hot cakes.

And with my 5 year old son.

As I am writing this, there are a limited number of spots available for this subscription box. It does sell out, so if it is showing up as sold out, I would recommend checking back later in case more spots open up.

Verdict: We love the Disney Tsum Tsum subscription box at our house. So fun!

What do you think of this box? Do you love Disney as much as we do?

  1. Tsum tsum’s at target are buy two get one free this week. Of course they aren’t unique like these in the subscription box but they might have some good ones.

  2. They actually do sell the small ones at Jc Penney’s for $6. The medium ones were $13. and the large ones are $25.

    • If you click on the link in the review above to the webpage for the subscription box itself, you will see a chart at the bottom of the page showing the various tsum tsum sizes:
      3.5″ mini
      7.5″ small
      11″ medium
      17″ large

Disney introduced the “small” size (7.5″) tsum tsums in this subscription box. It is possible that they will eventually sell this size outside of the subscription box, but from what I can find, they haven’t done so yet.

Your mention of JCPenney intrigued me because I hadn’t seen this yet. If you look at JCPenney’s site, you will see they refer to “small” tsum tsums, but technically that is misleading because what they are selling is actually the mini tsum tsum size, but calling it small. For example, see http://www.jcpenney.com/disney-collection-crocodile-small-tsum-tsum/prod.jump?ppId=pp5006461810 where JCP calls this the “Disney Collection Crocodile Small Tsum Tsum” but the measurements say 3.5″.

To be accurate, JCP should call this the “Disney Collection Crocodile Mini Tsum Tsum”. It seems JCP is using the term “small” generally to refer to the fact that the particular tsum tsum is not very big, not the new “small” size tsum tsum Disney is introducing in this subscription box.

Disney itself does not yet even sell a tsum tsum in the small (7.5″) size outside of this subscription box.

      Hope this helps!

  3. I love reading this review because of the angelic pictures of your kiddos! The sleeping pic is just bliss!!

    • Thank you! 🙂

  4. I love my disney tsum tsum subscription. It’s fun and I’m a disney girl at heart ?

  5. Is it just me or do the TsuTsu’s look poorly made? I mean they’re absolutely adorable but as I took a closer look the sticking & everything looks unprofessional. But I still love em.

    • That is really odd. Which tsum tsums were you looking at? I know that Target carries tsum tsums and and I can’t speak to the quality of those because I haven’t looked closely and we don’t have any of them. Hopefully, those are good quality…

I can speak to the tsum tsums in this subscription box and tell you that the quality is impeccable. I specifically noticed this before. The tsum tsums are really detailed, made of nice materials, and I have never seen a stitch out of place.

      Hopefully that helps!

    • It is not just you 🙂

    • It’s not only you, I was thinking the same exact thing. For this price, and for it being Disney, you’d think that they’d look better quality.

  6. I’d like to sign up, even though it’s expensive for what you get. I’ve cut back on a lot of subs and I think my daughter would enjoy this. It’s currently sold out so I’ll try to remember to check back on it another day.

    • Hopefully some spots will become available again soon! 🙂
