CocoaCouriers-February-2016-Brasstown

Brasstown 75% Chocolate with Blueberry (2.25 oz.)- $7.95

The first bar in this month’s box from Cocoa Couriers is a dark chocolate bar made with whole dried blueberries. The blueberries beautifully complement the 75% dark chocolate.

Madecasse Toasted Coconut (2.64 oz.)- $5.95

I’ve seen Madecasse bars seen in my local grocery, but this is my first time sampling one.

Toasted coconut is set into the back of the bar, and the flavor is outstanding.

CocoaCouriers-February-2016-Raaka

Dick Taylor Black Fig (2 oz.)- $8.50

Dick Taylor’s Black Fig Bar pairs 72% Madagascar cocoa with small pieces of dried fig.

The fig bits give the bar a chewy texture, which is really interesting. The chocolate itself is smooth with fruity undertones.

Raaka Mint & Nibs (1.8 oz.)- $7.95

Rounding out the box is a mint-flavored bar from Raaka that’s finished with cocoa nibs. The peppermint flavor is a little addictive, and I love the crunch that the nibs add to the bar.

Verdict: I’m really impressed with the quality of the chocolate included in this box. Thanks to Cocoa Couriers, I discovered some fantastic new bars and brands. I loved all of these bars so much, in fact, that I don’t think I’m able to pick a favorite! That said, I do think it’s important to point out that all of the bars in this box are dark chocolate (they range from 56%- 75% cocoa). I love quality dark chocolate, but those with a preference for lighter and milk chocolate should take note. The retail price of the bars in this box totals $30.35. That falls short of the month to month cost of the box, but it’s in line with the monthly cost of an annual subscription.
