Something Snacks says "you'll always find one sweet, one salty, one international, and one healthy snack surprise" in their boxes.

This month, the theme was Hello Kitty for Valentine's Day!  I shared much of this box with my niece, so we shared it together.  So let's get to the actual snacks in the box now, shall we?

SS2

Kawaii Cookies - Strawberry - $1.55

These were OK.  They're crunchy strawberry biscuit type cookies.  My niece loved them, and I would probably eat them if they were sitting there.  I don't think I would go out of my way to buy them though.  There were a ton in the bag, and they're going home with the little one.

SS3

Cotton Candy Pink Vanilla and Blue Raspberry Flavor - $1.39

This was good cotton candy - It was almost as good as freshly made cotton candy.  There was quite a bit in the bag too.  We enjoyed this one a lot!  This was the sweet snack promised (though there were quite a few sweet snacks included!).

Yo-Bo Chocolate Coated Sticks - $1.28

These tasted exactly like milk chocolate Pocky to me - so I loved them!  Pocky has quickly become one of my favorite snacks.  This particular item is from South Korea, so this is the international snack this month.

SS4

Biscuits with Chocolate Cream - $1.19

These are long biscuit type cookies that you dip in to the milk chocolate cream.  They're not unlike the Nutella & Go snack that has gained in popularity in past years.  We enjoyed these, but I think a petition needs to be started to increase the amount of chocolate cream!  More chocolate cream!

Lottepie Choco Pie Chocolate Coated Pie - $1.05

I've tried these before thanks to a few other treat boxes, and they're good if you like marshmallow pies.  They're not my favorite, but I can definitely see the appeal for people.  This one came a bit melted, but it's really been warm here in So. Cal, so I don't hold it against the subscription box companies - they're shipping to negative degree weather in some areas, and 80 degree weather elsewhere.

SS5

Jelly Belly Favorite Flavors - $1.00

The flavors of these are bubble gum, cotton candy, very cherry, strawberry cheesecake, and red apple.  They definitely fit with the Valentine's Day theme in color and flavors!  Jelly Belly always does a great job with their candy, and it is quite fun to try all of the flavors.  I've been to their factory in Northern California once, and it was so interesting to see all of the work put in to making jelly beans!

Senbei Rice Crackers - $0.50

This is the something salty added to the box.  This was not my favorite, but I know some of you will love them!  They taste like this mix from Costco, and I know some people go nuts (no pun intended...) for that stuff.  There were two packages of these included, with two crackers in each package.

Verdict: I really thought this was a fun box.  It does seem a bit out of the ordinary from their past boxes, because of the whole box being Hello Kitty themed - but I thought it was cute for Valentine's Day!  I never knew there were so many Hello Kitty snacks out there in the world.  My niece loved all of the candies and treats I let her try - I think this would absolutely be a box that the kids would enjoy as well.

The value this month was a little low.  I calculated about $7.96.  I probably would not have been able to purchase all of these items for that amount though, due to shipping, etc.  So if I take the amount of items and divide them by the total amount of the box, would I be happy with the value? Looking at it that way, each item would be approximately $1.90 - which I think is reasonable.

What do you think of Something Snacks?  I thought the Hello Kitty themed box was quite fun, and look forward to next month!

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!
