Included in the box were a few cards. One was a standard information card and the other provided more information on this subscription’s earth-friendly packaging.
Zuke’s Skinny Bakes with Pumpkin and Sweet Potato (12 oz) – Value $5.99
One thing I should point out is that Petite Fours really works with you to provide food items that your dog can have, even if there are allergies involved. The box I reviewed last month was more of a general box that you might get if your dog doesn’t have any dietary issues. This month, the choices are geared towards dietary preferences I selected. Anyway, these are vegan and free of wheat, corn, and soy, so theoretically Nyx can have them. They’re also made in the USA!
Simply American Chews 7” Bully Sticks (x 2) – Value $7.98
We selected beef as a protein because Nyx has had good luck with it in the past. Bully sticks are a good choice for dogs who can have beef, since they only have one ingredient. These are also USA-made.
Zuke’s Z-Filets Grilled Beef Recipe (3.25 oz) – Value $5.19
If you’re starting to wonder about repetition of brands and protein sources in this box, I have to give Petite Fours credit. Nyx’s dietary intolerances are super hard to work with. And honestly, they are doing a good job so far. These are grain free and made in the US.
Cloud Star Dynamo Dog Functional Treats with Pumpkin and Ginger Soft Chews (5 oz) – Value $4.86
Again grain free and made in the USA, both of which are awesome for Nyx. These are a bit softer than the other treats in this box and are supposed to support digestive health. Which Nyx surely needs. She is currently on 29 pills a day (4 for pain, 2 for her joints, 5 for urinary tract issues, and the other 18 for her IBD).
There weren’t any toys in this box so here is a gratuitous photo of Nyx from when she was about one year old.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $24 for the February 2016 Petite Fours box. That is a little bit less than the cost of a subscription plus shipping, but I am placing a lot of value in the customization since my dog has so many health issues. That can’t be easy for a dog subscription company to deal with. If you get a longer subscription, the value is a little better, too.
What do you think of the February 2016 Petite Fours box? Do you subscribe to any dog or cat boxes?
