PawPack is a monthly subscription box for dogs or cats. PawPack customizes your box to your dog’s size – my dog, Nyx, weighs 84 pounds. This is a review of the “large” dog box. PawPack focuses on eco-friendly, organic, and natural items for your pet.

The Subscription Box: PawPack
The Cost: $39 per month on a month-to-month plan, with better deals for longer subscriptions. Shipping is free in the continental US and $10 for Alaska, Hawaii, the UK, Canada, and Australia.
The Products: Full sized surprise items each month along with various samples and other goodies. Everything will always be either Eco-Friendly, Organic, or All-Natural.

The card this month talked about this month’s charity effort, the Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation, which brings dogs in need of help to the US. The other side of the card listed the items in the box.

Zippy Paws Pizza Emoji – Value $6.99
This was a big hit, although Nyx had one of the squeakers out in about five minutes…
Nerf Dog Football Squeaker Small – Value $6.99
While I appreciate the attempt to tie in the Superbowl to this box, this is just far too small for a dog Nyx’s size. I’d rather have a more useful item for a large dog, even if it wasn’t particularly timely.
Artvark GoGo Curly Bully Stick (8-9 inches) – Value $2.86
This value is based off a similar item, since you can’t see prices on the Artvark site unless you log in. These are all natural and sourced from South America and the USA.
Healthy Partner Pet Snacks All Natural Chicken Tenders (3 oz) – Value $5.70
This is made from chicken breast muscle. They’re made in the US from human-grade ingredients and contain no grains or fillers. Nyx can’t have chicken due to her IBD, but I’m sure my sister’s bulldogs will be thrilled.
Kate Aspen Bottle Opener – Value $13.97
Another football-related item, sort of (that is, if you were having a Superbowl party, you could use this to open beer). This is classier than my other bottle opener so it will get used on the rare occasions when I have bottles to open.
And now for the obligatory doggie pictures…
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $36.51 for the January PawPack box. That could go up a bit if the actual bully stick price is different from the similar item I linked to. This is a little bit less than the cost of the box and I’m somewhat disappointed that I couldn’t use one of the toys at all (I don’t get upset about treats Nyx can’t have because she can’t have most treats!). I’m hoping this was kind of just a bad month and that PawPack will get back on track in February.
