MunchPak boxes are so cute! The little cartoon snacks and the airplane are just too fun. The box is really heavy cardboard, which for a snacks subscription is great. Getting smashed treats wouldn't be fun! They also send a little card with the name of the person that curated my MunchPak for me.
This box was choc full of snacks from all over the world. They did not send an informational card with the box, but the snacks are quite easy to find on MunchPak's website. My box was packed by Ana this month.
Umaibo Corn Vegetable Flavored Puff - $1.00
This interesting snack is from Japan. This is like a giant cheese puff flavored like vegetables, but not too strongly. I've received a few before, and they're not something I would reach for regularly.
Glico Pretz Pizza Flavor - $3.00
These are from Thailand, and they're delicious! They really do taste like pizza (lets be real though, nothing could ever take the place of pizza) and the crunch factor is nice! I received these last month as well, but I like them enough that I'm not upset!
Covered Bridge Creamy Dill Pickle Potato Chips - $2.00
These are a product of Canada. There's no other way to say it: these are awesome. They taste so much like dill, but then there's a creamy element at the same time that helps squelch the sour punch that pickles can have - the flavors work well together! I am usually pretty choosy about what chips I'll eat - flavor is a huge factor. These are competing with my favorite salt and vinegar chips for first place.
Bakalland Cereal Bar - Cranberry & Orange - $2.00
This cereal bar is from Poland. It is coated in yogurt along the bottom, and the top part is fairly soft. I enjoyed the flavor of this one, and appreciate the flavors of the rest of this brand's line - I think I'm outside the majority (according to what granola/cereal bar brands produce) - when I want a replacement breakfast bar, I don't want a ton of chocolate in it!
Ola Pola Chocolate Wafers - $1.00
This candy bar is from Poland. This was better than the average wafer bar. The flavor was smooth, and the chocolate was delicious. I wouldn't be upset if I got another one of these for sure!
Mieszko Drops Zozole - Orange - $1.00
These are also from Poland. These were interesting! They fizzed quite a bit, and they were a bit tart. The flavor was more tangerine than orange, but it is close enough! I liked these a lot.
Haribo Phantasia Gummies - $3.00
These gummi candies are produced in Germany. There are quite a few different shapes in this package which is fun for little ones. The flavor is pretty generically fruit to me. I'm not sure I can pick out exact flavors! I'm personally not a big gummi candy person, but I think Haribo makes the best gummies out there. $3.00 per pack is pretty reasonable as well, as these exact ones are selling for $4.80 on Amazon!
Kennys Twists Bitter Berry - $2.00
These candies are from the United States. They're sour, and taste vaguely of berries. I've not seen these in stores near me, so maybe they're more popular in specific regions!
Lotte Koalas March Chocolate - $2.00
These are from South Korea. They're crunchy koala shaped biscuits with chocolate creme inside. I have received these (or something similar) in the past, and I do like them.
Skawa Coconut Dragees - $2.00
These candies are from Poland (I'm seeing a Polish theme here...). The coconut flavor was definitely strong, so if coconut isn't your thing, these probably won't be either. The coconut filling was covered with smooth chocolate, so the best comparison taste wise is probably an Almond Joy.
Toxic Waste Sour Candy Drum - $2.00
MunchPak says on their website that these are from the United States, but the packaging says "Made in Pakistan," and manufactured in Indiana, so take that for what you will. These are sour coated candies with a sweet, fruit flavored inside. I received the assorted pack that includes the new 'mystery flavor.' I tried a black cherry candy. On the drum, there's a scale of how long you can keep one in your mouth - apparently I'm a "Full Toxie Head," because I kept it in my mouth until the sour part was gone. Honestly, I didn't find these as sour as Warheads are, but it was pretty sour at first. These will be passed along to someone that will enjoy them more - sour candies aren't my go to!
Verdict: My MunchPak this month was valued at $21.00. This month for me was heavier on the sweets than the savory snacks, but this will vary for each individual subscriber. I always enjoy being introduced to new candies and snacks, so I appreciate the variety of countries that MunchPak sends snacks from! It lets you get a small glimpse into the food culture of other countries. While some of the snacks this month are not to my personal taste, I realize that's absolutely subjective, so I would say I got a great box this month!
