Valentine Card by Neon Rae – value: $5

This is a cute card! So simple and sweet.

La Luna Salt Co. Chocolate Bar – value: $4

Oh my goodness, this is one of my favorite subscription box discoveries. It’s made with Madagascar Vanilla Bean Sea Salt! The package said “best enjoyed cold” so I stuck it in the freezer before eating it and it was amazingly delicious!

Lip Gloss by Sappho – value: $22

This lip gloss looked a little dry/funky in the package, and it didn’t come sealed. I found it on their website but it is different packaging, so part of me wonders if this was included to get rid of their older packaging. It still seems like it works well, and the color is pretty! Plus, it’s supposed to be vegan and organic.

Triangle Necklace by Olive & Pepper – value: $24?

This necklace is a simple and delicate necklace. It’d be pretty on its own or as part of a layered necklace look!

Here’s a swatch of the lip gloss.

And here it is on. It’s a pretty subtle color, but has some great shimmer and hydration.

Plaid Infinity Scarf by Greenish – value: $18.99?

This is a great scarf! I really like the plaid and it’s almost like a blanket scarf – it’s a great size.

Here’s the scarf looped around twice.

Verdict: I’m pretty happy with this Mommy Mailbox! I know it says “mommy” in the name, but it’s a great box for women in general. I estimate the total box value to be about $74! That’s a win for me, plus I’m really glad to have found a new favorite chocolate treat!

Loved this box! The value was well more than I paid and some of the items would qualify as on the luxe side.

Each month they select a mom or two, normally a blogger mom, to curate the box. It’s almost like a box of faves from the mom curator of that particular month. At least that’s how it started out.

Mom of young kids, this is not what I was expecting as far as a box geared towards moms. I mean I love special beauty & fashion treats as much as the next lady, but when I am looking for a box made for moms I’m looking for items that would be geared towards making parenting easier/more fun/less stressful. I could see bath soaks and spa-type goods for relaxation maybe, but not scarves and lip gloss.

Did you ever hear of or try Ecocentric Mom? They have 3 boxes from which to choose: Mom, Mom and Baby, and Pregnancy Box(es). On their site (I access through FB) you can see contents of past boxes.

I really wish they would come up with another name for this box, it would be so much more appealing. Not everyone is a mother, to have a box name like this I would expect it to be more for mothers, yet it seems to focus on women in general. The value is good, and I find it more interesting then popsugar. Just hope they will consider a name change in the future. Or keep the name, and create another name for the box that any woman (even ones that are not mothers) would feel comfortable enough to subscribe to.

Not a very exciting box. For a little bit more (at full price), I think Popsugar MH is much more exciting and a better value.

The necklace is cute but if you are mommy of young kids, it seems delicate enough for a baby or toddler to grab and rip off your neck. And February is too late to send out a warm scarf.
