Le Tote is a month-to-month clothing rental subscription. When you sign up, you browse their catalog of clothing and accessories and create your “closet,” from which they select items to send to you. You keep the clothing to wear as long as you like, and you can also send back your box for a new selection of items as frequently as you like. If you love something enough to want to purchase it, you can simply hold onto it when you send the rest of that box back. Also, if you purchase your whole tote, you get one month free!
FYI – the items in my Le Tote boxes are selected for me based off of my preferences and style profile, so your boxes may look completely different!
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
The Subscription Box: Le Tote
The Cost: $49 a month
The Products: Unlimited designer quality clothing and accessories for rental. Each box contains 3 garments and 2 accessories. Once you get your first shipment you can ship back the items for more as many times as you like for the monthly fee. (Netflix for clothes!) (FYI – if you keep an item from one of your totes, you get a sixth item in your next tote! Also, if you keep everything in a tote, you get 1 month free.)

This was my first tote for January! (My 8th tote since signing up)
Camilla Pineapple Charm Pendant – retail $28 (Le Tote Price: $24)
What a cute necklace! Pineapples are super trendy right now, so I picked this to rent. I got a lot of compliments on it.
BCBGENERATION Perforated Zip Clutch – Retail: $78 (Le Tote Price: $52)
I actually really like this clutch for keeping my things together in my diaper bag. It’s the right size and easy to grab and go if I’m running someplace without the baby.
SAINT GRACE Fleece Shawl Collar Cardigan – Retail: $130 (Le Tote Price: $96)
I really love this sweater. I enjoyed wearing it a lot. It’s fleece inside so it’s warm and really cozy. The color is pretty, too.
JACK Bobby Striped L/S Tee – Retail: $58 (Le Tote Price: $29)
This shirt didn’t fit me well. It was short and weird. I think the drape detail is cute in the back, but I wouldn’t actually wear something like that.
SUMMER & SAGE Harper Striped Hoodie – Retail: $80 (Le Tote Price: $29)
This is a great top! It was really comfortable and I liked the stripes a lot.
Tote #9:
OCTAVIA & CO. Stella Pendant Necklace – retail: $30 (Le Tote Price: $22)
This is a really pretty necklace – I love the silver and rose-colored stone combination.
NOIR LUXE Mirrored Drop Pendant – Retail: $34 (Le Tote Price: $28)
I thought this necklace was really interesting and pretty cool, but not my personal style.
FRENCH CONNECTION Crewneck Sweater – retail: $98 (Le Tote: $74)
This pullover was thick, soft, and really comfortable. It may not be the most flattering top ever, but the color is great and the super long sleeves make me feel like I’m walking around wrapped in a blanket.
DKNYC Foil Glitz Tank – Retail: $70 (Le Tote Price: $56)
This top is one of my favorite subscription box finds of January. I feel like a bombshell in it! I don’t know where I’d wear it, though, as a work-at-home mom with a minimal actual social life. I’m really tempted to keep this!
NOIR Metallic Knit Fit and Flare Dress – Retail: $80 (Le Tote Price: $60)
This dress is okay. The material isn’t very comfortable, though. Here’s a better look at the design:
I do think the design is a really cool detail.
Verdict: This month I went through 2 totes, and found an amazing top. My very favorite part of this sub is that I can keep the items as long as I like and wear them before deciding if I want to buy them or send them back. Sometimes it takes feeling how a piece wears before realizing that it won’t actually work for you, or that it’s itchy, or something like that. I also feel like there is minimal pressure to buy items, since it is a rental service and not a styling service. I feel this aspect gives me permission to enjoy (and wear!) the clothes and not feel bad or awkward when I send everything back (even though I do often keep an item per tote anyway so far).
Evaluating the value is a little tricky because I think the value of renting clothes and accessories is pretty subjective and different for everyone. I can see this being a great service for someone who uses a “capsule wardrobe” or someone who doesn’t like to wear the same thing twice or has a lot of social events to go to, or even women in the process of losing weight!
