JUSTFABFEB 2016 - items 1

George Clutch in Fuschia – value: $34

FYI – when I was ordering, there happened to be a site-wide buy one get one free sale, so I got 2 items this month. That sale is over, but there is currently one for all tall boots!

I’ve been looking for a compact clutch to keep my things separated in the diaper bag, so I thought I’d try this one. It feels really nice and I think it could work really well for me.

The lining is super cute, too!

JUSTFABFEB 2016 - items 3

Carlona boots in Cognac – value: $62

These were the second item I ordered with the BOGO deal. I like them! I don’t actually already own any brown boots yet! I liked how high these went and the little knit detail on the top. The quality feels pretty decent – nothing that blew me away, but better than I was expecting. Maybe like similar quality to what you would get from Target.

The one thing I don’t like – and this is a general gripe about new boots) is when the heel feels slippery. Like, just plastic instead of a grippy sole on the heel. Do you know what I’m talking about? It scares me to death, especially since MI boot weather often means already potentially slippery weather.

Here’s how they look on! (I need skinnier skinny jeans for these. Please ignore the awkward bunching.)

Verdict: I’m happy with my JustFab purchase this month! After reading around online, I was worried about quality. But I’m satisfied with it, especially considering what I paid for my items. Plus, I’m really happy I snagged these on a BOGO sale!

I bought a pair of boots from them a few months ago and had the same complaint about the slick heels in the snow. I wound up taking some rough sand paper to the bottoms to rough it up, which helped a little, but other people’s comments about having a professional add a new bottom would be your best bet. I had a credit left from when I had a subscription, and only used half, so now I have $15 in credit left that I can’t use because I can either get the promo price OR use my credit. I don’t recommend buying boots from these guys, their purses are cute, but do you really want to spend $39/mo on accessories that you might like?

You can buy little stick on grippy pads for slippery shoes and boots. Cheap and effective.

I’m confused by how the VIP program works. And the company’s website doesn’t offer much clarification. Is the $40 monthly fee applied towards your purchases for the month? For example: What was your total cost (including the $40) for the two items you got?

I’m confused too. Do we get two items for 39.95, or is that applied toward the total purchase? I like that there’s the option to skip a month.

Mary Beth and Lily – sorry for the confusion!

The way the VIP program works is that you take a style profile, get a “curated showroom” of their products to match your tastes and style (though you can shop anything in their store). VIPs get special prices on their merchandise (most items are $39.95). You can skip a month if you want, but if you don’t skip or pick which item you want that month you get charged $39.95 in store credit ($39.95 counts as “one credit”) that you can spend anytime. If you’re familiar with Fabletics or Adore Me, it has a similar model. I snagged these items during a BOGO free sale this month. So, the total I paid for BOTH these items was 1 credit/$39.95.

Hope that helps!!

Haley – I’ve been thinking about getting some boots similar to that because of the fold down factor, it’s a lot colder where you live than where i live (louisiana) though so having them all the way up is probably more practical for you.

It’s good to know that the shoes and bags are okay. I did order from them once and was really disappointed with the clothes I ordered and sent them back. Now I have store credit with them and am antsy about trying anything else, so I’ll give the shoes a go. I could use some new boots, myself.

GAH! Those hard plastic heels are deadly. I’ve slipped an fallen because of them. If you take them to a shoe repair, they can add a little rubber piece on the heels that helps with that. Both really cute choices, btw!

It’s not just boots. I have some $90 Nine West wedges that have such slippery bottoms (under the ball of the foot as well as the heel) that I about fall over on my rear end in the office kitchen every time I wear them to work.
