If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month you get to pick out 1-2 pieces, and they surprise you with the rest. (The surprise items are completely different from the pieces you pick from). For the $149 tote, you pick 2 items, and get 3-4 more surprise items based on your style profile.
Every now and then Golden Tote will have “bonus totes” for different occasions that are released at a different time than their regular monthly collection. For example, this is their 2016 Valentine’s Day tote! They released this near the end of January with some new collection pieces to be guaranteed to arrive by Valentine’s Day. This Valentine’s Day tote’s set-up was just like their regular $149 totes.
FYI – This is not a typical subscription, each month they release a new collection and you can decide whether or not you want to buy it.
Also, they package your totes in a different design every month. I love this month’s! It’s so cute!
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Golden Tote also includes some styling suggestion cards for the items you pick. I love that the robe has a teapot and a candle as part of its styling suggestions!
Puella Lovestruck Robe – value: $72
(74% cotton, 26% poly; cold water wash, lay flat to dry)
(This is one part of a matching lounge set that Golden Tote released for this tote. The other is a pair of jogger-style lounge pants. I couldn’t grab the pants when this tote released due to high demand (plus I wanted a different item) but I snagged them for one of my regular February totes.)
This item was my first pick for this tote. I love this robe! The fabric is really soft and the little hearts all over it are cute. I also like the grey/navy combo. It’s a little short on its own, but with the pants it matches with (or just any sweat/yoga pants) or something it’s perfect.
Young at Heart Blouse – value: $50?
(65% Polyester, 35% cotton; hand wash cold)
This was my second item choice for this tote – it’s great! I love the heart print and the shade of pink. The style fits very flatteringly and it seems pretty versatile: it’s good for layering with a cardigan and I can wear it jeans or a skirt.
Gilli Striped A-Line Dress – value: $70?
(self: 96% polyester, 4% spandex; contrast: 95% viscose and 5% spandex; hand wash cold and hang dry)
I love this top! A-line silhouettes are so flattering on lots of different body types, and I love that this dress is pretty modest. Plus, wrap-fronts are always a bonus for me since it means easy nursing, which can be especially difficult in dresses!
Pink Note Draped Front Cardigan – value: $65?
(74% modal, 26% polyester; hand wash cold water, flat dry)
I’m thrilled with this surprise item, too! It’s a really dark grey, which I love, and has a really cool drapey front. I think it’s really flattering, and you know I love wrap or drape fronts!
LeShop Cozy Cardigan – value: 65?
(70% acrylic, 20% polyester, 10% polyamide; dry clean only)
The fabric of this cardigan is soft and cozy, the cut is flattering, and the sleeves are long enough. Plus, I think it’s a really good length for me and my body shape. I’ve found that cardigans that are a little longer than this one throw off my proportions and make my legs look super short.
Miss Love Lace Detail Top – value: $40?
(shell: 100% rayon; contrast: 100% nylon; hand wash cold, hang or line dry)
This is actually a very pretty top. It’s styled weird here because of the tank top I’m wearing but it’s pretty sheer so I didn’t want to go without a cami. I need to find a better item to layer it with. But anyway, as you can see, the whole top of this shirt is lace, with a cool faux-v-neckline! I think this is a very interesting piece. The coral is fresh and fun, too. I just have to find the right thing to layer it with.
Verdict: This is officially the first Golden Tote I’ve received that I’ve actually loved everything! This is my favorite tote yet. I love when they send me a dress, and I’m excited to wear everything. I’m really happy that everything falls perfectly into my style!
What do you think about my tote? Did you get any good surprise items in yours?
