LPineapple-Glossybox-Feb-2016-Card

February's GlossaryBox theme is "Weekend Essentials."

Each month comes with an info card. This month's card listed 3 out of 5 total items; the remaining two were mystery bonus items.

LPineapple-Glossybox-Feb-2016-Headband

Pieces to Peaces Love Knots in Heather Grey and Sunset Orange - $10 each

I don't usually wear headbands. But when I do, they're funky fashionable like these Love Knots. Both are made of soft stretchy jersey knit and are machine washable. Both colors match my style too-- the Heather Grey pairs with a lot of clothing and Sunset Orange would be perfect for fall styles. All Pieces to Peaces items are handmade by a team of local women in Olympia, WA.

Dermadeli Lavish Lips Collagen Serum - $28.99 (on sale for $14)

This is a lightweight serum that nourishes your lips with all sorts of nutrients and claims to make lips fuller, smoother, and firmer. It has no noticeable scent or taste. The doe foot applicator is also easy to use. I applied this to my lips once in the morning and once before bed. The serum is thin so it dries very quickly and leaves no sticky residue. In fact, when it dries it feels like I put nothing on at all! Afterwards I applied lip products as usual. I have not yet seen or felt any difference but no one should expect miracles in such a short testing period. I do like it enough to continue using though.

LuxePineapple Collection Kohl Eyeliner in Dark Brown - $13

Out of the trio of LuxePineapple Collection brand items, this kohl eyeliner is probably my favorite. I would need eye primer to make it stick around longer but it applies very smoothly and has great pigmentation.

LuxePineapple Collection Luxe Blush in Valentine - $15

This is a soft pinkish, dusty rose-ish colored blush. The card claims it has a subtle pearl finish but it shows up mostly matte on me. It applied easily on my cheeks and looked very natural.

LuxePineapple Collection Luxe Eye Shadow in Charming - $8

This eye shadow is a matte grey. It has good pigmentation and little fallout. Both blush and eyeshadow are labelled cruelty-free.

LPineapple-Glossybox-Feb-2016-Swatches

Swatches from left to right: LuxePineapple eyeshadow in Charming, LuxePineapple blush in Valentine, LuxePineapple kohl eyeliner in Dark Brown, and Dermadeli lip serum.

Verdict: I loved this month's GlossaryBox. The headbands were a treat, the lip serum is pretty awesome, and I really enjoyed the LuxePineapple brand items! The stated retail value of $59 on the card doesn't account for the bonus items. So, total value actually adds up to about $85. That's unbelievable for the cost!

FYI, LuxePineapple is launching a new subscription in April, details to be announced. I am definitely looking forward to it.

I love the headbands and really want to try the lip serum! I will definitely use the other items so this was a winner for me. I signed up for their newsletter so I got a $2.50 coupon making this box $14.50!

Seems like they are trying to capitalize off of Glossybox. I am sure they will have something to say. Name change.

I am so happy you reviewed something from LuxePineapple. I have been a fan of theirs for a long time and have been so happy with their products and wonderful customer service. Liz, the owner, is absolutely wonderful. I can’t wait to see what the subscription box will be like!

I agree! Liz– the one from LuxePineapple 😉 — and her CS team is amazing. I’ll probably mention it in future reviews.

Thanks for the review, Nancy. I would have to see more of this Sub to decide if it is worth it for a new start up. I noticed the “Dusty Rose” blush does look matte on your arm and more of a bright pink than the compact shade which wouldn’t work at all for me.

I got So confused reading this. I thought Glossybox. It’s way too close of a name. Are they trying to capitalize on misspellings in google or something? Strange…

I agree ! I thought for a moment they misspelt it. I thought surely a company didn’t come in and name it glossary box.. Adding that AR in there sure seems sketchy to me. Untrustworthy. Think I’ll have to pass !

Lol! They are similar but LuxePineapple also has a Box of Joy that’s just as well received, so I don’t think it’s to capitalize on anything.

Also yesterday I learned their new subscription is called LuxePineapple Post!

Hi Nancy! This is my first time seeing a review from you so welcome to the site!

Are you guys planning to do a review of LuxePineapple Post too?

Paige

At one point this site had the January box half off. For that amount, it might seem like a decent value, but for me, at full price this does not seem like a great value, probably because I don’t love the headbands or makeup colors. For that price range, Allure, Boxy Charm, and Glossybox all seem like better values.

So I was thinking, “new age encyclopedia door to door sales” hahaha. I wonder why they chose this name. Could you please tell us if you are reading? I’m really curious lol

Also, I think I’m going to sign up just for the name lol, value seems decent too.

Laurie

GlossaryBox – yeah, that’s gonna be confusing.

Amber

I was definitely expecting to see books of some sort! haha That lip stuff also looks like old, old, old clear lip gloss that turned, blech!

I don’t know anything about this make up company so I can’t say I’m too interested in this, but it looks like a decent deal.

...

Here I thought we were getting a sub for thesaurus and dictionary addicts.

This box looks really nice, but the name makes it sound like they’re trying to scam people who mean to sign up for glossybox.

Dea

Exactly – they are trying to scam people by confusion. There is nothing “glossary” about the box. It is a blatant attempt, and a really s t u p i d one.

Jen

Seriously. I thought it was a review for Feb Glossybox and I was like, “Wait. Is there other edition of the Feb Glossybox?” Then I reread and saw it said GlossARybox. What’s the reason to name it Glossarybox when there is already a Glossybox?

Jenn

They are changing the name of the subscription. It’s not going to be GlossaryBox anymore. They have amazing customer service, btw!
