Eternally in Amber is a new bi-monthly subscription box that focuses on hair accessories!  This is a review of the Deluxe Box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscripton Box:  Eternally in Amber Deluxe Box

The Cost:  $25.00 for the Deluxe Box, and $15 for the Basic Box  (Discounts available for longer subscriptions)

Ships to: Worldwide. I went through the checkout process to find out shipping information.  To ship to me, it's $1.99.  I'm not sure if this varies though, so be sure to check if you're thinking about this box!

I was so excited when I found out about this box.  I've been looking for hair boxes forever, and for a while they just didn't exist!  A few of them are cropping up now, but this one looked awesome because it wasn't just product - it had accessories!

This box ships bi-monthly, and this was the first shipment of the year.  A few delays meant that the January box was delivered in February, but that isn't uncommon and it isn't a big issue when subscribers are kept in the loop!  There was also a blank notecard included in the box, I'm assuming as a bonus item thrown in!

Pink Abstract Round Wide Tooth Comb - $14.50

I will set the stage for this review by saying that my hair is about 3 feet long - hence the reason I was looking forward to hair boxes becoming a thing!  This comb got through my (dry) hair very smoothly, and quickly and effectively detangled it.  Honestly, I think I lost less hair using this comb that I do generally when I brush (this makes sense because of the bristles vs. the comb tines), so I think I might just start using this regularly to cut back on all the hair fall I get!  Aside from effectiveness, this comb is beautiful.  I've never owned such a beautiful hair styling tool!

Black Abstract Hair Clip - $8.00

The curator of this box, Amber, stated in the little letter for subscribers that most of these products could double as hairstyling tools and hair accessories.  This is one of those pieces - it would be great for sectioning hair when blowdrying or curling, or it would also work as a hair accessory for an updo or half up style.  The little flecks of color in the resin are beautiful and this piece seems well made.

EA5

Black/Cream Abstract Hair Claw - $9.00

This claw clip is quite sturdy, and feels like it would take quite a bit of effort to snap one of the claws.  That's always been my biggest issue with claw clips, is that the individual claws break so easily.  I don't think I'll have that problem here!  This would be great for sectioning hair as well, or again, it can double as an accessory!

Tortoise Shell Mini Hair Clips - $6.00

These mini clips are another item that can double as hair styling tool and hair accessory.  I personally don't wear many hair claw clips like this, but I can see their use for sure.  I have used them in updos in the past, and they're very handy for keeping hair out of your face.  These are some of the best quality I've seen.

Tortoise Shell Long Barrette - $7.00

This barrette is probably 4 inches long, and very slim.  It holds quite a bit of hair, and would be the perfect way to pull your hair back on days when you don't want it in your face.  I am personally a huge fan or tortoise shell, so this is one of my favorite pieces in the box!

Verdict: I have looked for a hair accessory box everywhere and had no luck until this box came along.  To put it simply, I love it.  The items are all very high quality, they seem sturdy so far and the value is great.  I calculated about $44.50 in value for this box, which is great for a $25 box.  The values ascribed to each item seem to be very reasonable and comparable to other similar brands, so I am really impressed with this shipment!

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

I love this box. Hair accessories is a weakness of mine. Oh my I don’t need another box. So tempted.

As much as I love the idea of a hair accessory box, this one isn’t doing it for me, at least not so far. I’m really picky about the kinds of barrettes I use — I like the French clip ones (I think that’s what they’re called) and I like using two of them, one on each side, since my hair naturally parts in the center. The claws, big or small, always seem to hurt my scalp. I do like the comb a lot, though. Hopefully they’ll keep putting out boxes and you’ll keep reviewing them, and maybe I’ll buy one here or there. BTW, although I haven’t measured it, my hair is also really long — comes down to my waist.

I’m interested in what the future boxes will bring. I know I need hair accessories but I can’t say I was wowed by this. Maybe in the future they will change it up some. I hope you will keep reviewing this box so we can get a better idea.

I would like it better, too, if it had more decreative headbands and such…
I love the Deepa Gurnani type hair pieces… like in the other sub boxes we have gotten in the recent past. …
I think that $25 for what is in this box is a little bit more than what is in this box…. but maybe I am just spoiled by the other boxes.

I have curly hair (3b) and have totally switched to using Ambers combs for myself and my daughter. What I haven’t seen in 2 reviews yet is the reason why I actually began using them: they have absolutely no seams, if you will. They are perfectly smooth all the way around covering every inch. It will not pull your hair like other combs…the material is silky smooth and solid. These products will last forever. I found Eternally Amber on Etsy a while back and just placed another order thanks to a great sale she’s having and plan on ordering a subscription also because the items you get in the box, except for the comb, are not available for sale on the Etsy site. I am eternally impressed with these combs. I did think shipping was high at around $9 for my latest order, by with the coupon, it was worth it to me. You can’t find combs like these anywhere. I have looked! I wish I could post a picture of these absolutely beautiful combs and barrettes I have. Gorgeous and so well made. But most importantly, smooth as can be. Now, I’m picking my ice blue scalloped comb and going to brush my 4 year olds hair (she requests the combs only now and will not let me use a brush since it does not pull and snag her hair, although I can’t wait to try the boar bristle brush I just ordered).

Yeah, I also have naturally curly hair (3c/4a) and love me some hair accessories. I’m very interested in this box but I’m planning to cut my hair again soon so I probably shouldn’t sub lol.

I actually really like the idea of a hair based sub box with hair care products and accessories. You know – I’d actually like something like a time of the month box where they ship you shampoo and conditioner and a few extra goodies every month – I can’t get enough hair care products and accessories.

This box however isn’t really jiving with me. I like more fun, playful hair accessories and these come across as a little too mature for me, haha The comb and black clip are pretty, but the other clips are just items I don’t use anymore (I’m more into headbands, barrettes and ties).

I really never use any tools like these, but they are so pretty I’m almost tempted!
