RMS Beauty Skin2Skin Blush Brush – Value $34
This is a vegan brush with synthetic fibers. They’re placed in such a way that is supposed to mimic application of blush to skin instead of on foundation, and I can say that the brush does not pick up any existing foundation. I like getting brushes in subscription boxes, especially when they’re nice ones like this, though with cream-type blushes, I generally prefer applying with my fingers. However, I have a ton of powder blushes as well so this will get used.
RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in “Smile” – Value $36
This is a coral/pink blush that you can layer for more intense color. Although it’s a lip and cheek stain, I am not so big on dipping my fingers into lip products for reapplication throughout the day, so I have been using this on my cheeks. It has some definite staying power despite being a cream based product.
Cocoapink Goatsmilk and Honey Lotion in Orange and Amber (6 fl oz) – Value $11.99
Two possible fragrances were scent out for this one. I love the combination of orange and amber that I received. There are a ton of possibilities for other fragrances on the Cocoapink site (click the product link above) that have me intrigued as well. This absorbs quickly and is supposed to be good for sensitive skin!
Lalun Naturals Moon Butter (10 g?) – Value $18
This smells just a little chocolatey to me but it does have cocoa butter in it so that makes sense. It is also scented with night blooming flowers. It is a pretty thick balm so I have actually been using it on my elbows, which get very dry during the winter and which I prefer thicker moisturizing products for. So far, so good.
Lalun Naturals Winter Rose Toner (1 fl oz?) – Value $5.50
Lalun Naturals specializes in seasonal skincare. This toner is alcohol-free so and rosewater based so it is suitable for dry skin and winter skin. The rose scent is pretty strong. Apparently you can also spray this on your tongue. I do like to use alcohol-free toners during the coldest part of winter, so this was particularly timely.
This swatch is after two swipes with my finger. So the color is buildable and will probably still work even if your complexion is darker than mine! It stayed there a long time, too.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $105.49 for the February 2015 Boxwalla Green Beauty subscription box. All the brands were new to me and that is over double the cost of the box. I thought everything was super luxurious this month and I loved how everything was focused on dry winter skin (except the blush, which provided a much-needed pop of color for this time of year).
