  1. I too was a bit let down that this box was sold out, but when I saw it was available for purchase I emailed and requested it as my monthly selection. I received a very nice email back letting me know I would be receiving it. It never hurts to ask nicely. I’ve always had a good experience with Birchbox’s customer service.

  2. I just emailed to ask if I could switch my sample to the curated box since apparently there’s been a Birchbox miracle and they are available again. Very frustrating!

  3. I am an Ace and was able to get this box during sample choice, but yesterday I saw many subscribers complaining that they wanted it and it was not available. Offering it today for sale and to new subscribers is a slap in the face to existing subscribers. I intend to let Birchbox know my opinion on this because I think existing members deserve better treatment!

  4. The curated box was sold out for me too. I ended up emailing them bcuz the same thing happened to me. They changed my selection to the curated box.

    • Thank you for the tip! I emailed them to see if I could get the curated box for my sample. We’ll see what they say.

  5. They did the same exact thing with the Nicole Ritchie box last summer. It was a curated selection that sold out before it got to the non-aces, BUT then they suddenly offered it as a new box to new subscribers. SMH

    • I got that box last year and I was not an Ace at that time or a new subscriber. Guess I am just quick to draw. Ha ha.

  6. Ditto Anna & Chelsea

  7. Me and my 17yo stepdaughter got the exact same crappy box that I saw like 3 people post that they got last month. I selected the REN for both of ours (with different profile answers!) and we still got different from almost everyone else crappy boxes.
This month, i picked the spray because my daughter likes it. My SD wanted the curated one. It wouldn’t let her pick until almost 2pm the second day. Wth!?

I figured out that you can still get the curated after selling out of their selected amount of samples now a few months ago but their website is CRAPPY and the way they do this is too. How do two people with entirely different profiles get the exact same box that literally almost no one else got? A LOT of people got their choice AND an Arrow item, too, which I think is crappy of them too.

  8. Yeah they are doing some weird stuff with their stock lately. Last month the arrow lip balm “sold out” super quick as a sample choice so I chose the Whish oil but ended up getting the lip balm in my box anyway. Not complaining about that but selling something that is “sold out” for subscribers is super frustrating

  9. Not available anymore. I just got the email from Birchbox yesterday to select my box, and went I went online to select THIS box, it said sold out. I am very disappointed. I wanted this box!

    • That’s what’s annoying. It’s only “sold out” for sample selection but it’s still available for outright purchase.

  10. FYI – The link has it priced at $15, not $10 =]

    • It’s $10 once you add it to your cart. Just added this extra info to make it clearer: Current Birchbox subscribers can get this product for $10. Just make sure you’re logged in, then add to your cart!

    • I got this box as my sample choice next month. It is $15, but if you are a current subscriber the $5 is taken off when you place it in your cart.

  11. I don’t get this. I wanted to get this one, but it was sold out by the time I was able to choose. I thought sold out means sold out…

  12. I don’t understand why they make this available to purchase for $10 (for current subscribers) right now, but yet they won’t let you select it as your sample selection because it’s “sold out.”
