ultaflawless-january-2016-box

Ulta recently released a couple of skincare collections. This one is the “Fast Track to Flawless” collection. I spend far too much money at Ulta and I love trying new skincare items so of course I had to have this! These are still available via the Ulta website as of the time of me writing this review. You get free shipping on Ulta.com orders over $50 and sometimes they have coupons on their main page, so definitely look out for that if you are thinking of ordering.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this collection. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Subscription Box: Ulta “Fast Track to Flawless” Skincare Collection

Cost: $15

The Products: Deluxe skincare samples to correct imperfections and perfect your complexion

There was not an information card. However, the back of the box this collection came in had product names, sizes, ingredients, and a little icon indicating whether or not items are TSA-friendly sizes (everything in this box was).

Mario Badescu Drying Mask (0.5 oz) – Value $4.50

Love clay masks. I have combination skin but I have a really oily T-zone and a problem with my pores, so I use clay masks a couple of times a week. I often can’t tell one from another, but I will say that this one doesn’t irritate my eyes (some Freeman and Montagne Jeunesse ones do) so that is a big plus.

Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Eye Cream (0.17 fl oz) – Value $24.48

This is a brand I’m familiar with through GWPs and BeautyDNA. Pretty much every Algenist product I’ve tried works very well for me. It’s too soon to tell if this is doing much, anti-aging wise, but I use eye cream at an incredibly slow rate (a FOIL will take me over a week to finish off) so there is at least enough to see if it works.

Dr. Brandt Pore Dermabrasion (0.25 oz) – Value $7.25

I’ve tried this before. Keys to success: don’t use it every day and press very lightly. This is some pretty harsh stuff (I do like it a lot, but now you are forewarned).

Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cream (0.33 oz) – Value $10.68

Back when BeautyDNA was new, I got this one month. “Cloud Cream” is a good name considering the texture (which is both fluffy and dense at the same time). It’s also a great moisturizer that didn’t break out my skin.

ultaflawless-january-2016-mask

7 Wonders Himalaya Camellia Pore Minimizing Mask (1 mask) – Value $6

I love sheet masks and try to use several a week, but I am more likely to pay $1 or $2 for sheet masks from Beauteque or something, so I am always happy to get something that costs more than that to try out. I think this helped make my pores look better, but that may be wishful thinking. Too hard to tell after only using it once.

ultaflawless-january-2016-murad

Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (0.17 fl oz) – Value $11.05

Unfortunately, I only use mineral sunscreens on my face (had a rash once before from chemical sunscreens). So this is getting used on my arms as soon as I am out of bulky winter sweaters!

Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum (0.25 fl oz) – Value $15

I like brightening and lightening products, but I am super pale. I am not sure how something like this would work if you had more pigment in your skin to begin with. Anyway, this is another one that is going to take some time to do its work so I don’t have any thing to report about its effectiveness just yet.

Verdict: This collection has a retail value of approximately $77. That’s about five times the cost of the collection, so it’s a great deal I’m happy to get to try a lot of these products in travel sizes because buying the full sized ones would get really expensive, really fast. And it’s less of a risk, if it turns out a product doesn’t work for me. In general, I think this is a good introduction to some of the higher end skincare products that Ulta carries (and the sizes are way better than a lot of the ones in their GWPs…) – particularly if you don’t buy stuff just to get GWPs all the time (which I may or may not be guilty of…).

What do you think of the Ulta “Fast Track to Flawless” Skincare Collection? Are you going to grab one?

I’ve been trying to find this box forever. It’s always out of stock online then I go to the store and can’t ever find it. I give up. I don’t NEED any of the items I just wanted it, ugh!

Hi, I just picked up two at my local ulta. They said they will get more in. I called and they held the product for me. Their shipments come in on Wednesday. Try calling ahead.

For those of you interested on strivetin, I picked up a 4 piece kit for 59, originally 89 with value of 175.

My local Ulta always runs out before the ad is available. I think they never have more than 3 in stock and probably it’s the employees buying them. If they think that they are tricking me into coming into the store and buying other things, they can forget it. Target is in the same plaza and often cheaper.

How do I know when these kids are available?

Does Ulta ever offer free shipping with less than $50? I gave up ordering because I still had to add $20 if I wanted free shipping and I didn’t need anything (well, I still didn’t need the kits, but you know how it goes…). Ulta store is not so convenient, so I prefer online shopping.

Thank you Virginia and Ragan for the tip! I have a weakness to skincare value sets… Maybe it is a good thing that they are sold out online (at least now) as I am overloaded with products. I recently reorganized what I have by categories, so I can see how much stuff I have and it is easy to find or gift. On a separate note, I really wish labeling of manufacturing dates and expiration dates can be mandated by law. You cannot find all the products online and it is a time consuming thing.

Not often (re free shipping under $50). Sometimes during October they will have free shipping with $25 or with a donation to breast cancer research (you can give $1).

I just buy a ton of stuff I don’t need to make up the difference. Not a good strategy, I am sure, but then I get lots of goodies in the mail. (When I am being more practical I stock up on things like foundation and concealer, since Ulta carries the ones I use, or body scrubs when they’re buy 2 get 2 free.)

The last time I bought something online with Sephora they offered me a year’s free shipping for $10. The shipping on my order was about $6.00 so I paid the $10. You might want to check with them.

Not joking I tried ordering 11 different kits from Ulta last night ALL are out of stock. Ridiculous. Sad I missed out on these two but yet again … a reminder of why I dont shop at Ulta.

Bummed – so jealous! Not online and not in my local store! Beware – the Ulta website is not always accurate about whether ‘items are actually available in store. Disappointing trip this morning but I snagged the hair kit for $10 so not a total loss.

How is the hair kit? It looks nice but hard to tell online?

Thanks!

It’s really nice. I bought two yesterday. Such a deal. There are two treatment products; living proof mask and perfect or. 3 style products; sexy hair thickening and refreshing spray, matrix mousse, redden frizz dismiss. And, 3 finishing products; tigi bed head, Sebastian shaper (which costs $5) and wella dry shampoo. I do not know total value but guessing at least $50.

Unfortunately this one and another similar one is sold out online. Have to check the store I guess. It looks like a great kit!
