Yummy Bazaar Destination Food Club Subscription Box Review Full Experience Box December 2015 - Info

This month’s box is all about the holidays! Instead of being filled with items from a single country (like usual), this month’s box features different holiday items from across Europe.

Yummy Bazaar included a note thanking me for the review.

Also in the box was a card with information about each of this month’s featured items.

Yummy Bazaar Destination Food Club Subscription Box Review Full Experience Box December 2015 - Calissons

Petite Calisson Candies D'Aix by Roy Rene- $16.95

I can’t get over the packaging of these delicate almond candies.

Yummy Bazaar Destination Food Club Subscription Box Review Full Experience Box December 2015 - CalissonsBox

The box is so fun and colorful! Calisson candies are a new discovery for me, and I really like them. They’re made from almonds and crystalized citrus and melon peel and come in a variety of flavors, including fig, pear, orange, tangerine, raspberry, apple, and lemon.

Yummy Bazaar Destination Food Club Subscription Box Review Full Experience Box December 2015 - Jam

French Rose Jam by Favols- $6.95

I love incorporating rose flavor into my cooking (raspberry and rosewater jam is a favorite recipe of mine!), so this jam is right up my alley. You can see the petals suspended in the jelly, which is so pretty. I’m not sure how I want to use this, though. Perhaps on hot buttered brioche? Suggestions are welcome!

Yummy Bazaar Destination Food Club Subscription Box Review Full Experience Box December 2015 - Figs

Spanish Dark Chocolate Figs by Chocohigos- $9.50

My husband and I have a tradition of adding a few specialty food items into each other’s stockings at Christmas, and he gifted me these dark chocolate figs a few years ago. They were deliciously decadent, so I’m thrilled to receive another pack. They’ll be a great addition to my holiday cheese board!

Yummy Bazaar Destination Food Club Subscription Box Review Full Experience Box December 2015 - Panettone

Mini Italian Panettone Mignon by Tre Marie- 7.95

Panettone is a traditional Italian Christmas loaf made with raisins and dried citrus peel. The packaging of this mini panettone is beautiful, and I think it would make a fantastic hostess gift. I’m not sure that I’m willing to part with it, though.

Yummy Bazaar Destination Food Club Subscription Box Review Full Experience Box December 2015 - Sperlari

Italian Gianduja Chocolate with Hazelnuts by Sperlari- $5.95

Gianduja is an Italian chocolate hazelnut concoction (flavor-wise, think Nutella), that’s considered by many to be one of the best Italian inventions of all time. It’s one of my favorite sweets, so I was pretty excited to pull this gianduja bar from Sperlari out of my Yummy Bazaar box. It’s creamy and delicious, and I love the addition of whole hazelnuts. (Despite having taken a few years of Italian in college, I’ll admit that I always stumble over the pronunciation of gianduja. I’ve watched this video SO many times!)

Yummy Bazaar Destination Food Club Subscription Box Review Full Experience Box December 2015 - Stollen

German Stollen Bites with Marzipan Filling by Schlunder- $9.95

Stollen and panettone are fairly similar. Both are types of European fruitcake traditionally served at Christmastime, but stollen is typically heavier than panettone and contains marzipan and more dried fruit. I’ve never seen stollen bites before, and I think they’ll be great for serving alongside coffee or putting out on a holiday smorgasbord.

Yummy Bazaar Destination Food Club Subscription Box Review Full Experience Box December 2015 - Gingerbread

Assorted German Gingerbread Cookies by Weissella- $5.55

And a holiday box wouldn’t be complete without gingerbread! These cookies come in three variations: plain, frosted, and chocolate-dipped. I broke into these cookies right away, and I really like the frosted and chocolate-dipped versions. The plain gingerbread cookies was just so-so, though. I found it to be a little too dry. Perhaps they’re traditionally served alongside coffee or tea?

Verdict: This is my fourth Full Experience Box from Yummy Bazaar's Destination Food Club, and, unbelievably, they seem to be getting better and better! I love that this month’s box has a holiday theme, and I think Yummy Bazaar did an excellent job curating it. All of the items feel seasonal and festive, and I love the emphasis on desserts and sweets. The cost of the items in the box totals almost $63, which is fantastic for the $35.95 cost of the box. This is one of the best food boxes I’ve received all year, and I’ll definitely be picking up a few more to give as gifts this holiday season!

These could all potentially make great gifts and amazing hostess gifts, but I don’t think I’ll be able to part with any one of them. This has quickly become my favorite subscription, and the only one I simply can’t get rid of.

All of these treats look yummy for stocking stuffing. I too put “special” treats in my partner’s and family’s stocking during the holidays and this pack is great inspiration! I also took Italian throughout high school (and undergrad) so it seems we have a few things in common, Lindsey 🙂

This box looks great! I’m still stuck on a gift for my dad, and he loves treats. I just chatted with the customer service though, and they said orders placed today would receive the January new year box, fyi if anyone had the same idea I did.

Also, when I went to the site, there was a popup to get $10 off an order of $30 or more if you sign up for the mailing list. (I was emailed a one time use code.)
