Vegan Cuts offers monthly snack and beauty boxes, but occasionally they offer limited edition boxes full of vegan goodies, as well. Recently they offered a limited edition tea box. Since I am a huge tea drinker, I had to check it out.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this limited edition box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)
The Limited Edition Box: Vegan Cuts Tea Box
The Cost: $21 (Note: This box is sold out!)
The Products: a tea infuser, a few sweet (vegan) snacks, and 40+ assorted bags of tea.
Ships to: US for free.

Aladdin Insulated On-the-Go Tea Infuser – Value $14.99
This is cool. It’s BPA-free and dishwasher/microwave safe. The air space between the walls of the container serves as insulation so it doesn’t get too hot to touch.
Here’s a close up of the cap. It has a strainer built right in so you can put loose leaf tea inside, or you can use a tea bag. I have a lot of loose leaf tea I need to use up so this comes at a good time.
Bhakti Chai Fiery Masala Chai (2 bags) – Value $0.50?
Bhakti Chai Rooibos Chai (2 bags) – Value $0.50?
Bhakti Chai uses a lot of ginger for a little kick. (Brew for a little less time to decrease the intensity a bit.) To make these in true chai style, add some dairy and sweetener. (I prefer not adding anything to tea, personally, but I really liked the ginger here, and these totally work without milk or sweetener.)
Javazen Balance Coffee Blend Portion Pack (2 x 1.4 oz) – Value $4.77
This is a mix of coffee, cacao nibs, and matcha. I should mention that I cannot stand coffee. Like at all. Even the smell makes me ill. I decided to try this anyway since it contained cocoa as well. (I didn’t expect the matcha to be very prominent, what with the coffee being in there.) Unfortunately, this totally tastes like coffee and I had to dump all kinds of milk and sugar in it to get it down. My fiance liked it, though, so he can have the second bag all to himself. If you like coffee, you will probably be a fan.
Miracle Tree Moringa Lemon (18 bags) – Value $5
I’m still trying to figure out the best way to drink this. I’ve decided I’m not super fond of the moringa flavor, but I am interested in some of the potential health benefits. I need to stop forgetting to remove my tea bag before it gets too strong! Or else to brew this along with some strong black or green tea. I have a lot of chances to figure out what works, though…
Miracle Tree Moringa Mango (1 bag) – Value $0.28
Miracle Tree Moringa Strawberry (5 bags) – Value $1.39
This Miracle Tree tea is the first sense I got of how random the assortment truly was. I received the moringa mango tea in a Vegan Cuts Snack Box over the summer. The strawberry kind is new to me. I’m going to do my experimentation on the lemon kind to see how I like to brew this best, then move on to the mango and strawberry so I can get the most out of the smaller quantities here.
Numi Turmeric Tea (6 bags) – Value $4
Numi tea is kind of expensive so getting a lot of it always feels like a score. This is another one I got in a Vegan Cuts Snack Box over the summer (although, as I recall, that was a different variety). This has three roots in it, hence the name – turmeric, ginger, and, unfortunately, licorice. Licorice root is often added to tea as a natural, non-caloric sweetener. But it is not a neutral flavor. I am trying to figure out the best brewing time for this to emphasize the ginger!
Runa Ginger Citrus Guayusa Tea (10 bags) – Value $2.96
Guayusa is a member of the holly family with naturally caffeinated leaves. I liked the flavor of this tea (I’m a fan of the combination of ginger and citrus) but I have this nagging suspicion that I’m slightly allergic to guayusa. I kind of felt itchy and my throat tingled a bit after drinking this one, and I had a similar reaction after drinking a can of Runa energy drink out of a Vegan Cuts Snack Box in the past.
Yogi Roasted Dandelion Spice DeTox Tea (5 bags) – Value $1.56
Yogi Raspberry Ginger Digestive Vitality (5 bags) – Value $1.56
These sample cards were individually packaged in white envelopes. I think the amounts of these teas you would have to drink to see real changes in your body would be kind of large, but they were enjoyable enough on their own just as beverages (I’m not always a fan of Yogi teas, but I liked these well enough – especially the raspberry ginger one – and both kinds were new to me).
Rawxies Chocolate Brownie Cookie – Value $2
Rawxies Banana Nut Bread Cookie – Value $2
Rawxies are raw, vegan cookies. I’ve had them before and liked them. These were a little tough and it turns out they will expire in February. I guess they must’ve been left over from past Vegan Cuts Snack Boxes and maybe they were a little old.
Ocho Coconut Mini (2) – Value $1
These are just chocolate-covered coconut and were pretty good. I think they were a little old, too, though, because the chocolate was starting to become discolored. It didn’t affect the flavor, but you might want to keep that in mind if you were thinking of giving this box as a gift.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $37.51 for the Vegan Cuts Limited Edition Tea Box. That’s quite a bit more than the cost of the box and I think everything fits the theme pretty well. I got 52 bags of tea, which is definitely more than the 40 promised (and that’s not even counting the Javazen samples). Based on the list of possibilities on the Vegan Cuts site, there may be considerable variation in these boxes. I do wish there had been a few more items that weren’t left over from past snack boxes, but I got to try a few new teas and, between my fiance and me, all of these will get consumed.
