Every few months Target launches a beauty box, and it sells out very quickly. This time, they released Holiday boxes for both Her and Him. This review is of the Him box.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Box: Target Beauty Box for Him

The Cost: $5

Degree Men Adventure Dry Spray in Adventure – FULL SIZE! Value $5

Gillette Clinical Cool Wave Deodorant – FULL SIZE! Value $8

Two full-size deodorants in a $5 box is awesome! And my husband loves both the scents, so these are a win!

up & up 5 Blade System Razor – Value $8

Another always useful item!

Axe Shower Gel in Phoenix – 3 oz $.75

Dove Men + Care Body & Face Wash – 3 oz Value $1.50

These scents are also wins for Eric! And I was happy to see that they are both paraben free.

Verdict: My husband Eric isn’t as familiar as I am with the Target Beauty Box, so when I told him this box was just $5 his response was “Are you kidding me?!” And then “Do they send this every month?” I love that kind of Target Beauty Box enthusiasm! And I wish Target would just do a monthly his and hers beauty box!

Anyway, we’re super impressed with the value on this box. $23 worth of super useful items for $5 is a great deal, and when you factor in the $3 off coupon, it’s extra awesome!

What do you think of the latest Target Beauty Box for Him? Were you able to grab one?

  1. My Chuckie loved it! We are also gifting one to his brother, a pretty impressive gift that only cost us $5!

  2. I got one for my hubby. I think he will get a kick out of “Beauty Box” on the box, but he uses drug store brands for grooming, so he would like the items. I think he will especially like the razor and deodorants. I might put a few more items in the box and put a ribbon on it.

  3. For everyone who doesn’t like how it says “beauty box” on the men’s box (including me) – I was able to get some gift tag labels last night (from Target of course) that are just completely plain red and green holiday shapes (tree, deer, star, snowman, etc). And I was able to take two of them and just apply them over the “beauty box” part, leaving the Target symbol still visible and they ended up great! I was really really impressed with how great they look – for example I used a green tree with the red deer and had them somewhat overlapping, or the green star and red tree next to each other.
They stick really good and are thick enough that you can’t see “beauty box” through them. They were Spritz brand & $3.00 (42 labels, but some are smaller shapes).
I’m even going to use some on other Target boxes to completely cover up the Target symbol and beauty box part to use as nice holiday boxes for a few other gifts that aren’t from Target.

    • That is a fantastic tip! Thanks! Those target boxes are perfect for other gifts, too.

  4. I bought one for my husband – he’s your basic guy, so he’s not into hair gel or Axe sprays or anything like that. He couldn’t believe the box only cost $5, plus he knows I’ll use the $3 coupon. I still can’t believe the box was only $5!

He was particularly thrilled about the two deodorants and the razors, and he joked that if he used the Axe stuff, he’d have women flocking to him 😉 He already uses Dove+Men or Old Spice body wash, so Axe wasn’t that big of a change.

I think the women’s box was great (I bought one for myself and one for my sister), but Target hit it out of the park with the men’s box!

I have to agree with the comments on yesterday’s review of the women’s box, that I wish they would call the men’s box (and label it) something other than “Beauty Box.” I had it delivered to the office (we work together, and I don’t like boxes sitting on our front porch all day at home), so our all-female staff and I had a bit of fun giving him his “beauty box.” Thankfully he’s a good sport.

  5. Like Dea, my husband (age 68) has been taking extra showers and gushing about how much he likes the body washes. Like Liz, my husband also asked if he could get one every month. They really SHOULD offer men’s boxes more often!

  6. This came in and my boyfriend said, “You always get so many beauty boxes! When do I get one!?” He was kidding, so he was surprised when I said “Good news, this is for you!!” Haha, as others have said, it’s so much fun to share the “joy” of these boxes with men!

I got one for each of my younger brothers for Christmas as well. I mainly look forward to their disgust when they see “beauty box” on the top (that is MY gift, haha), but I know they’ll like the contents.

  7. Grabbed one and gave to my teenage son. He seemed excited about it. I will definitely be buying this box again next time..

  8. So happy we can share the joy of sub boxes with the men in our lives! My dad and fiance love their little surprises!

  9. I got this as an extra little gift for my Dad. He will use everything, and the value is amazing. I got the women’s box for my Mom, but that one was a bit of a miss for her so I’ll be swapping out some of the items to better suit her. The men’s box was wrapped up immediately. Such an easy gift and it comes in it’s own box!

  10. Looks like a great one this time. Sorry I missed it. Next time I’ll be faster. I think my son would have used everything in this one.

    • Good luck, the male version only comes out like twice per year I think. I would of jumped on this and doubled up.

  11. My husband is 71, and this was his first box. He was so delighted to unbox the goodies, and immediately took a bath and tried them all out. He loves everything, but especially the razor – and he’s a picky shaver. All-around win, Target! Can’t believe these 5 high-quality items only cost us a dollar each.

    • This just makes me smile —thanks for sharing! 🙂

      • I agree! This may be my favorite post ever.

    • That’s the same age as my dad and it made me smile to imagine him finding delight in this. I’ll have to make sure I order one for him next time. Thanks for posting.

  12. Just received my 2 boxes. What a deal. I’m finding some great products in these Target beauty boxes. I usually buy high end products at Macy’s, Sephora. But since they don’t have a beauty box in my area, I’m turning to these new Target products that seem to be just as good or better. ?Thanks Target

  13. The last few years we (my adult sibs) have just been doing stocking stuffers so I grabbed one of these for my one of my brothers (the other doesn’t use any conventional grooming products; don’t get me started lol). He loved last year’s so it’s becoming a bit of a tradition. The value is almost unbelievable.

  14. Grabbed two, one for each of my cousins. I asked my (female) cousin, guess how much I paid for each of these? she guessed $30 lol.

  15. Best men’s box so far!!! I loved how useful everything in this box was and there was no hair gel. I was skeptical about the Axe body wash but it actually smells nice and fresh, not the strong cologne scent some of their stuff has.

  16. Great box, I was so happy to get one for the hubby 🙂 Keep ’em coming, Target!

  17. Darn! I was having brain surgery when this went on sale and sold out. ): I have gotten pretty much every other box because they are an AMAZING deal! Plus, I usually end up getting full sizes of a lot of the samples sent or lipsticks in different colors: Skin inc., Revlon, etc. Next time, Target Box, next time.

    • Holy schnikey, are you serious? I hope everything went well and that your recovery is smooth!

  18. I ordered 2 boxes and was really happy to discover that they gave me 2 different Axe scents AND 2 different Dove scents! If they took the care to do that for me on a $5 box, I’m in awe! Excellent box, killer value.

  19. I grabbed two of these for gifts but after smelling the Gillette deodorant I kept it for myself (very feminine in my opinion) and it’s AMAZBALLS. Highly recommend to everyone! Honestly I think when tallying up the value it’s hard to tell from the reviews but even the sample sizes are huge! Such a great box. I’m still waiting for the women’s box but this one blew me away and I’ve been getting the target boxes for the past year.

    • I’m glad I’m not the only one stealing the Gillette! I honestly wish Target would put a full size deodorant in place of a skin care or hair item in the women’s boxes.

      • YES! I didn’t steal the Gillette because my husband likes it, but I agree that they should include a full-size deodorant in the women’s boxes. Even a Suave I’d be happy with, so long as it works.

  20. Grabbed a bunch for gifts – awesome (and super easy) gift for my cousin in college, and a few other guys, even shipped one to a friend’s husband (since I sent her the “her box”) – can’t beat it especially with the free shipping.
I love that it seems like the boxes are becoming a little more frequent 🙂
and hoping they do a fitness box again this spring (I didn’t discover MSA and my love for subscription boxes until May and missed out on the last one)
