Le Tote is a month-to-month clothing rental subscription. When you sign up, you browse their catalog of clothing and accessories and create your “closet,” from which they select items to send to you. You keep the clothing to wear as long as you like, and you can also send back your box for a new selection of items as frequently as you like. If you love something enough to want to purchase it, you can simply hold onto it when you send the rest of that box back. Also, if you purchase your whole tote, you get one month free!

FYI – the items in my Le Tote boxes are selected for me based off of my preferences and style profile, so your boxes may look completely different!

Tote #3:

Le Tote Subscription Box Review November 2015 - all items

These are all the items from my first Le Tote in November!

Le Tote Subscription Box Review November 2015 - items 1

NOIR LUXE Rain Drop Earrings – Retail: $24, Le Tote Price: $16

These earrings are okay. I already have some like them, though. These are the sixth item they threw in for me for keeping something from my tote before this.

BETSEY JOHNSON Pearlfect Kitten Studs – Retail: $25, Le Tote Price: $20

How adorable are these cat earrings? I love them!

KENSIE Fox "Boop" Sweater – Retail: $89, Le Tote: $68

The name of this sweater made me giggle. I think it’s really cute! Unfortunately, the fit was a little too wide and a little too short.

LYSSE Side Panel Leggings – Retail: $84, Le Tote: $64

These leggings were too short, too. I think the leather side panel is stylish, though!

SAINT GRACE Shirred V-Neck Tunic – Retail: $84, Le Tote Price: $66

This top is possibly my favorite item I’ve received from Le Tote so far! I definitely wore it multiple times. It’s so comfortable, the sleeves were a great length, and it was flattering.

FATE Piped Car Coat – Retail: $88, Le Tote: $58

I loved this coat, too! Unfortunately, the week I had this tote it was unseasonably warm here so I didn’t get to wear it out.

Tote #4:

Le Tote Subscription Box Review November 2015 Shipment 4 - ALL items

Now for the second tote I received in November!

Le Tote Subscription Box Review November 2015 Shipment 4 - items 1

OCTAVIA & CO. Branch Pendant – Retail: $22, Le Tote Price: $16

I really love this necklace! It’s simple, delicate, silver, and I love the fact that it’s a little branch. The price is great, too!

CLEMENT Cluster Feather Necklace – Retail: $48, Le Tote Price: $38

This necklace is a really pretty statement piece. It sits at a nice place on me and isn’t hard to wear/doesn’t feel bulky like statement pieces often do.

OCTAVIA Navajo Sweater Cardigan – Retail: $86, Le Tote Price: $68

(I’m wearing the feather necklace in this photo so you can see how it looks on!)

This cardigan is wonderful! I’m really into drapey cardigans this season. I want to live in this sweater.

Le Tote Subscription Box Review November 2015 Shipment 4 - items 3
OCTAVIA Anna Wrap Front Blouse – Retail: $72, Le Tote Price: $58

(I’m wearing the branch necklace in this photo and the rest of the photos, too, so you can see how it looks!)

I like this top a lot, but it was just a tad shorter than I liked, but not too bad. I think this top would be a great top to wear to an office for work!

OLIVE + OAK Cable Knit Sweater – Retail: $72, Le Tote Price: $56

This sweater was warm and I like the color, but I didn’t think the shape of it was very flattering on me.

LA MADE Thermal Drawstring Dress – Retail: $99, Le Tote Price: $74

This dress surprised me because I don’t normally like things with the waist that low but I liked this dress (I almost religiously have waisted tops sit higher at the smallest part of my waist). However, I do have to say that this really didn’t seem like a $99 dress. The fabric didn’t feel expensive at all and you could really see the pockets through the skirt part of the dress in person.

The Verdict: I’m having a lot of fun with Le Tote! This month I went through 2 boxes. My very favorite part of this sub is that I can keep the items as long as I like and wear them before deciding if I want to buy them or send them back. Sometimes it takes feeling how a piece wears before realizing that it won’t actually work for you, or that it’s itchy, or something like that. I also feel like there is minimal pressure to buy items since it is a rental service and not a styling service. I feel this aspect gives me permission to enjoy (and wear!) the clothes and not feel bad or awkward when I send everything back (even though I do often keep an item per tote anyway so far).

I also love that there’s no time pressure to get it returned in the mail! Evaluating the value is a little tricky because I think the value of renting clothes and accessories is pretty subjective and different for everyone. I can see this being a great service for someone who uses a “capsule wardrobe” or someone who doesn’t like to wear the same thing twice, or even women in the process of losing weight!

(FYI – some readers mentioned in one of my previous Le Tote reviews that their clothing had a funny smell when they received it. Mine didn’t last time, and they didn’t this time, either! I just wanted to make note of that, too.)

Just wondering, what’s the turnaround time between shipments like?

Super Quick! Once the post office marks your return bag shipped I get an email the next day telling me to pick out my next box. They ship the next day and it ships Priority 2 day. So from the time I ship my return to the time I get a new box in my hands is 4 days.

Thanks for the info!

Haley, I love your clothing reviews! I look forward to seeing what you get and I love the fact that you take full body photos so we can see what the clothes look like on a real human… Not only a real human, but one who is beautiful and shaped like an average sized woman, too, not a stick thin model! But something has been bothering me and I just have to say it…. In your bio picture you’re smiling with your teeth but in your review photos you never do. Smile, girl! You’re gorgeous and funny, show the world those pearly whites =) And keep up the great reviews!!

Haha, thanks, Gabbi!

You’re sweet. I’ll keep that in mind when photographing this month’s clothing boxes! =] I have to admit, sometimes I am in a rush when taking photos because I’m trying to race a newborn meltdown/fit into his nap time and I don’t think about it too much!

Thanks so much for reading, girl!

Ooh, I really like the 2nd tote! Especially the necklaces and drapey cardigan! The wrap blouse and dress both look really nice on you too.

Hi! Great review. Not sure if you sent the black and white coat back but if you are debating I think you should keep it! Price of $55 is great, it’s super stylish (add a brown skinny belt!) and looks great on you!

Hi, Jen! I did send it back, sadly, because I just bought a drapey cardigan from Stitch Fix this month and couldn’t justify it in my budget this time. However I DID mark it to be re-sent and plan on getting it again in a future tote. Another thing I love about LT is that if I ever send anything back and regret not buying it, I can order it via their shop. =]

Great review! I signed up for Le Tote last month after I saw your review of it. I typically have social events planned every weekend and I love wearing new outfits to them. People comment on the clothes and jewelry all the time. I get a new box every week so for $50 I get my moneys worth! This service is my happy medium between Golden Tote for $150 and shopping at department stores. I haven’t bought new clothes in a month because I know I will have new clothes every week to wear instead. The white blouse you commented on that was too short for you I wore that with a high waisted skirt and it was adorable! I haven’t bought any clothes from them but I have received clothes over again because I liked it so much. I honestly don’t think I will purchase from them because the prices are a little too high in my opinion for used clothes. I just put my account on hold for a week because I don’t have any events planned this weekend so I’m curious to see if my next billing date is also extended a week. I’m still on the waiting list for Rent the Runway Unlimited and they increased the price to $149/month for 3 items. I felt like they should have honored my $99/month price since I’ve been on the waiting list for months! Oh well I have Le Tote 🙂

Tia –
So glad to hear you are having so much fun! I’ve bought a couple items, but I definitely know what you mean about requesting items to be sent again and again! =]
