November marks the 1st Anniversary for The Gentleman’s Box.  Happy Anniversary GB Team!  Our post says the theme is the“Traveling Gentleman” and pays homage to the famous actor, George Clooney who travels quite often on and off screen.

English Laundry Eau de Parfum in Notting Hill – Sample – Value: $1.00

Simply said, what a man should smell like.  It’s sweet and musky at the same time.  It says there are notes of Bergamot and Sandalwood and Musk.  John and I are fans of English Laundry scents.  We first discovered them a year ago in an Ipsy subscription and I’ve been hunting down samples from the MSA Swap page ever since.  If you ever remember someone repeatedly stalking you for your English Laundry samples ..yeah, that was probably me. #notsorry Gotta catch’em all!

WoodChuck – Wood Luggage Tag in Cedar – Value: $30.00

This is like a Christmas Day present for John.  He really loved it. He says it will help his bag stand out from the crowd.  I personally thought that it would get torn off or broken during traveling, but he doesn’t seem worried at all.  The wood is very thick and the leather strap appears to be well made.

Happy Socks – Striped Socks – Value: $12.00

These socks are vibrant and very thick.  He loves all the socks that he gets from subscriptions, I think he finally got a pair that he wasn’t totally in love with.  No worries, I have big feet and they’re always cold!  I finally got some socks!

Jack Black – Supreme Cream Triple Cushion Shave Lather – Value: $1.00

John says that this shaving cream was slow to lather and very thick.  I don’t know if he liked it or not. He only used it once.  I’m actually surprised that he hadn’t tried this brand before.  It’s carried at both Ulta and Sephora and they send shaving freebies all the time.  Anyway, this sample is best suited while traveling and works well with the theme this month.

eBarberShop – Kent Classic Pocket Comb – Value: $9.95

I honestly didn’t think the comb would get any excitement or use from John.  Wow, was I wrong.  He loves this thing!  He shaved his beard down an inch and he’s been growing his hair out.  I’m praying he’ll let it grow out like any of these guys.  Top knots are so hot right now.  Back on track, it works well and fits comfortably in his pocket.

Kiko Leather – Passport Holder – Value: $35.00

As luxurious as this item is, John says he just doesn’t have a need for it.  This will make a great swap item just in time for a Christmas present.  It’s made very well with felt and leather and I can’t imagine any Gentleman that travels overseas often not loving it!

Gentleman's Box Subscription Box Review November 2015 - 19

Verdict: The Gentleman’s Box for November had an estimated retail value around $89.00 excluding the cost of the GQ Magazine which ships separately.  The retail values between boxes have fluctuated around $20.00 but continues to be well over the cost of the subscription.  John loves his new comb, luggage tag and perfume.  I’m “happy” to steal away a pair of socks, finally!! LOL

What did you think of the Gentleman’s Box this month? Let’s hear some thoughts from MSA male viewers too(even if it’s relayed thru your better half).  Have you ever rocked a Samurai Bun or a Top Knot? Are they allowed at your workplace?

  1. you know I didn’t think I liked the man bun but looking at the guy on the instagram page with the man bun in the suit changed my mind! Not sure if it’s because I have a thing for a man in a suit or if I liked the bun. haha Anyway back to the box at hand, I used to subscribe to this box for my husband a few months ago and I think they are doing really well. Makes me want to sign up again but my husband is in the military so as much as I would love him to dress up everyday it’s not an option. Still I am going to keep checking back and maybe I’ll sign up again.

  2. I ordered this box for my 16 year old son. He is pleased with it although he was hoping for a tie.

  3. Interesting box. I like it. Does any one know of any coupon codes for a monthly sub?

    • MSA5 to save $5 – I’ll add it to the post! :0

  4. Nice distraction on the Man Bun Instagram page. I have been watching the reviews on several of these type boxes. Trying to find the right fit for my teenage son. He has to dress up (jacket and tie) for a lot of his school activities. So thank you for the reviews.
