FanMail Favorites – The Walking Dead Limited Edition Holiday Box Review

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

FanMail put together limited edition Holiday Boxes based on single fandoms – one of the areas they focused on was The Walking Dead. They had a $50 and $75 option, both of which are now sold out.

This is a review of the $50 box.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Box: FanMail Favorites – The Walking Dead Limited Edition Holiday Box

The Cost: $50 + shipping (shipping varies based on location – $6.04 to Pittsburgh, PA)

The Products: “a previously released Funko exclusive, a wonderful McFarlane figure, a mini poster, three great Daryl items and much more! Nearly $100 worth of TWD collectible for $50 plus shipping.”

Good to Know: This box is now sold out!

Riot Gear Glenn Rhee Hot Topic Exclusive Variant POP – Value $18

Since the value on Amazon is high right now, I did some extra investigation to get the true value using the POP Price Guide! This exclusive Riot Gear variant of Glenn was only available to buy through Hot Topic. I actually bought this on Amazon earlier this year, so this is a double, but I love that they sent a higher price variant!

Here he is in all of his prison riot gear glory!

Daryl Dixon Pocket POP – Value $12.99 on Amazon

I recently received this in the October 1UP Box, so both of the POPs were duplicates for me. Frowny face. I love this pocket POPs, they’re easy to gift and everyone that I’ve given one to has loved them.

Here’s a closer look. The keychain is removable so that you can use it as a free-standing mini POP.

Mud Walker McFarland Toy – Value $11.93

They include a figure from the series 7 line of Todd McFarland’s Walking Dead toy line. Series 7 looks like it focuses on the group around the time of Terminus. I would have loved to get a character instead of a zombie (I don’t know if everyone got the same figure), but the zombie is cool and on display as I’m writing this. The zombie also splits in half so you can change how it’s displayed.

As with all McFarland toys/statues, the attention to detail is great.

Daryl Dixon Stocking – Value $20.99 on Amazon

It’s poncho Daryl Dixon! Who doesn’t want Poncho’d Daryl representing during the holidays?

The Walking Dead Dog Tags – Value $3.99

Daryl shows up yet again, this time in dog tag form. They have versions of these dog tags that include authentic costume pieces. I know that because a friend just gave me one about two weeks ago. It has a spot that has a piece of material worn by a Cabin Walker in season 3. While I’m not into dog tags, I did think that part was cool!

The Walking Dead Pins – Value $5?

They include a set of 6 pins. I’m not really sure where this is from, but they do have on the button – so I’m curious if this is tied into GetGlue’s sticker system?

Terminus Poster – Value $15 on Society6

This is a glossy 8×10 print of the classic map to Terminus!

The Walking Dead postcard – Value $1-2?

Also included is a postcard, which actually looks like a photo taken on-set during filming.

Greeting From Alexandria Keychain – Value $2-3?

And the final item is a Greetings From Alexandria keychain.

Verdict: FanMail definitely delivered what they promised when buying the box – I have the value around $93, which is perfectly in line with the expectations they set. The big ticket items in this box were awesome! Had I not owned 2 of them already, I’d be over the moon – so I think this is a great box. There’s a lot here to gift too, so I’m happy about that as well. Now, if only they would do a comic-based edition of this box…I can dream can’t I?

  1. It’s pretty absurd how heavily this features Daryl. Also not one item from this box is for actual fans of the comic. So it’s basically a box for people who watch the TV show and don’t know much about the real story.

  2. The deluxe box included 3 more items. A POP plushie of Daryll in his poncho carrying the crossbow. A pair of Daryll socks. And a Daryll Christmas ornament.

  3. I missed the Supernatural box so I was so happy to get this one and the Doctor Who box. My box included a bloody Carol Funko instead of Glenn, and a Carol figure instead of the Mud Walker. I love Carol but I think I might already have the Funko so I may put it up to swap. I am so happy with value and curation of these items, I just wish I could have gotten the Supernatural one too!

  4. sorry I missed any heads up about this box- It’s awesome!!

  5. Does anyone have pictures of the supernatural one?

  6. I agree! One does need a poncho Daryl around the house during the holidays to protect the elves and angels!

  7. Hooray! I sent this to my brother and sister-in-law since they’re huge fans, the box arrived and is under their tree waiting for Christmas to be opened — they don’t know what it is. If the boxes are all very similar, I wonder if I should tell them to open it early so they can have the Daryl stocking hanging before the holiday!

  8. I wish I had gotten this box! I could only afford one fanmail box, so I chose the Game of Thrones box, and it was a let-down for me. This would have been perfect for me!

    • The GoT box is out? I haven’t seen anything up for swap. Are there pics anywhere??

I was considering the Fanmail LE boxes, but I already have so many geeky items that I’m not using, I thought I’d try to swap for anything that I wanted. GoT was super tempting, though.

    • Jennifer, I got the $75 Walking Dead box because the Game of Thrones one (which was the one I really wanted) was already sold out. I got some variations from what is shown here, plus a plush figure and a few additional things. I would really love to work out a swap with you if you are interested. I don’t have my stuff listed on the swap site yet, so you can email me at dimplesg520(at)yahoo(dot)com.

      • E-mailing you now.

  9. The Daryl stocking is my favorite!
