Wantable Intimates Subscription Box Review October 2015 - BOX

Wantable Intimates is one of the subscriptions from Wantable, and it is probably my favorite box they offer. Like all Wantable subscriptions, you can heavily customize what they send you by filling out your preferences – and you still get to be surprised!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Here are the order details of my box. Wantable recently added free individual item returns to their subscription plans, so you can send back any item(s) you don’t want and get the refund based on the “Your price” listing. (Returns are free for US subscribers).

Wantable Intimates Subscription Box Review October 2015 - info 2

When you first sign up for any Wantable subscription you take a style quiz and you can get very specific about the items you want and don’t want. (This is the list of my loves, likes and dislikes from my invoice).

Wantable Intimates Subscription Box Review October 2015 - info 3

Last month, Wantable introduced some changes to their intimates subscription (you can read our post about these changes here). One of the changes was that they said their subscription would now offer two “stories” – meaning loungewear and lingerie. Personally, I think they described this new structure to this sub quite vaguely and I feel like we were left slightly confused and with a lot of questions.

I know, at first, I thought they might be splitting this subscription to either a loungewear-only or lingerie-only subscription. However, I included the photo above to show that they do actually allow you to receive both, just not in the same box, I don’t think. Each box now contains 3 items of either loungewear or lingerie, but you can still have both in your preferences, like I did (as shown above).

To clarify what items fall under which category, this is from their website:

“Loungewear includes lounge items, socks, and panties. Lingerie includes lingerie items, panties, bras, and hosiery.”

I’ve always loved how detailed Wantable’s preferences surveys are, but with this new update, it seems they dropped their details with hosiery. It used to be that you could specify preferences regarding shapewear and tights (including styles and colors), but now you can’t. (Note that I’m also not sure if they still include shapewear, or whether or not that falls under hosiery.) Also, as many of you have pointed out, their photo for “knee socks” is actually a picture of crew socks, which are very different and leave it unclear as to which a subscriber might actually get. I know a lot of women might like to get one but not the other.

That’s a lot I have to say about some of the recent changes. Now, on to my items this month!

Wantable Intimates Subscription Box Review October 2015 - item 1

Daisy Fuentes Flocked Lace Heart Thong in Black – value: $12 (My Price: $6.15)

This is a cute thong. I think the heart details make it cute and flirty.

Wantable Intimates Subscription Box Review October 2015 - item 2

Cheng Xin Modal Cami in Black – value: $18 (My Price: $9.23)

This cami is interesting, but I like it! It’s very drape – it’ll be best for layering under cardigans and such.

Wantable Intimates Subscription Box Review October 2015 - item 3

Nouveau by Pajama Drama Knit Robe with Shearling – value: $48 (My Price: $24.62)

This robe is made of a thick knit and I really like the color. I have a robe now, but it’s a thinner, plain black robe. This one will be really nice for the winter! I’m glad my stylist included this because I made a note that it’s getting cold where I am.

Verdict: This is my first Wantable Intimates box since the changes. I’m really curious to see how future months turn out. Personally, I’m a little bummed that they lowered the number of items to always be 3, and raised the cost of the box by $10 to $50 total. To me, that should indicate that they’re ramping up the value and quality of the items they send, but we’ll see if that’s actually the case with a few more boxes.

Sometimes you can find items that Wantable sends on sale online so the value can be a little tricky to evaluate – personally, as long as all the items included are worth the subscription cost to me, I count the box as a win. While I don’t feel delighted with this month like I have some of my previous ones, I know I’ll use everything, so I’m satisfied.

What do you think about Wantable Intimates? What did you get this month, and what do you think about the changes?

I just got my box and it was so disheartening. My first box came last month under the old rules and I LOVED it. This box somehow they didn’t pay attention to my sizes. I got socks that were to tight on my calves, and some underwear and pants in Large. Somehow the pants fit (and are totally amazing btw) but I’m an XL/2XL girl and I made that very clear. It was such a let down to get this box.

I received the same robe as Hailey, a pair of panties, and a cute white and black stripe tank. I love the robe! I live in the robe! I am disabled and this thing is wonderful!!!! I’ve never used a robe before and this one I’ve started using as a housecoat kinda thing (on goodness…I’m my mother!!! A housecoat!!!) and it keeps me pretty warm throughout the day/night.

Ugh. Received my November box finally and it was an EXACT duplicate of the Rene Rofe chemise and robe that I received in the spring. The only difference was that this set was blue instead of coral. So much for new premium product! I also received a pair of Daisy Fuentes panties that were the same as last month besides the color. They even still had the 2 pair package tag still attached! I feel completely lied to by Wantable.

Just got notice that my box has shipped! They gave me a 5$ credit for the wait. Hoping this box was worth the wait and hype.

I’m still waiting on any news of my box shipping. I’ve gotten the worst past few boxes. They credited me $10 extra and sent me that hoodie sweatshirt nightie thing to make up for how really terrible my boxes were…and up until 3 months ago is never had a single complaint and loved them. I’m very worried that even though I ultimately only paid $26 this month that it is going to be a huge disappointment. I kept asking for a fall box/warm clothing for both September and October…if my items aren’t warm or don’t include actual pants or leggings of some kind, which I made a note of, then I’m going to just put the money aside for jams and undies on sale at stores.

Thanks, Haley. I put those requests in the comments but found it frustrating that I couldn’t continue the quiz without liking some type of sock. I’m curious about how many customers have delayed boxes like mine. Eleven days after being charged with no progress is very unusual for Wantable.

No shipping or update on mine either. Sounds like they have issues going on and probably a lot of irate customers. If I had paid $50 as a new subscriber for only 3 items with a value of $78 I would be livid and return box right away. I don’t know how they are going to attract more new subscribers this way, especially when people just don’t wear certain items! The value is not good. They are still giving the same brands as before so this claim they upped their quality is bull. I saw one girl this month get the shorts from a short and tank set I got in May! Another got the striped pajamas drama dress I got in April.

Ditto here BUT I just received my box and I LOVE it. It seems to me that Wantable has stepped up their game already. I’m glad I gave it another month instead of canceling 🙂

I was actually thinking of re-subscribing but wanted to see how this “story” thing played out. Very disappointing that they not longer have leggings and tights and with the upped price and lowered number of items I am no longer interested.

Danielle

I actually got a kick-ass pair of leggings this month. Really nice, dark gray, Lucky Brand. I know it’s not listed on their site anymore but it appears some boxes may still include tights/leggings. Hope that helps!

Melissa

I just ran over and re-took the quiz and soft bras are gone in the quiz! As are leggings and hosiery! At the end, it doesn’t even show them as options. I guess they’re deciding to focus only on loungewear, camis and socks?? Shame because I loved getting tights and leggings from them.

Haley

Hi, Melissa – For me, I see bra options (including soft bras) on my quiz on the last page. Maybe try again? Hope this helps!

Ann

Sad to see that they are still including daisy Fuentes discontinued products and Panama drama. I was hoping for better quality items with the upgrade because I really would like an intimate box like this.

Ann

Pajama drama not Panama!

I got that robe in purple and I love it. It’s a little longer than my usual robe and I have been wearing it nonstop.

Haley i love your robe. I have not received my box yet with the new changes. This is my favorite subscription box.

I’m still waiting for my box. It was charged October 30, but they tell me my stylist is awaiting shipments of items. I don’t want socks at all but there is no option to dislike them completely. Plus, I couldn’t find a way to dislike leggings or hosiery. I loved this subscription and am willing to give them a couple of months.

Haley

Beth, I think they did take those parts out of their preferences quiz, but try specifying you do NOT want those items in your notes to your stylist! =]

Melissa

I have lingerie as a ‘dislike’ but somehow they still have me down as ‘liking’ bras and soft bras. I have a ridiculously enormous chest so soft bras are useless for me and normal bras are an adventure to buy. I made a note for my stylist that I do NOT like soft or wire bras and I do not understand why they took the ability to indicate directly how we feel about those items.

Reply ButtonReply

Haley

Melissa, I found that one of the last questions on the new preferences quiz addresses the styles of bras (soft, wired, or bandeau), and you can mark all three of those as “Dislike” to not receive them in your boxes. Those are separate than just disliking the general “lingerie” category in the very beginning.

Hope that helps!

Melissa

Oh my gosh, they must have changed that since I last took the quiz?? I remember going through the quiz twice trying to dislike the bras and it still showing up as ‘like’ at the end. I’m racing over to re-take the quiz, thank you!
