Madecasse Madagascar Chocolate, Sea Salt & Nibs – 2.64 oz, value: $5.99
This chocolate is amazing. I actually just ate the last piece as I write this! It’s 62% dark, has sea salt and crunchy cocoa nibs, and fruity notes.
This Bar Saves Lives, Wild Blueberry Pistachio – 1.52 oz, value: $2.08
This Bar Saves Lives, Madagascar Vanilla Almond & Honey – 1.52 oz, value: $2.08
These bars are all-natural, GMO free, gluten free, fair trade, and bee friendly (I’ve never seen that before!). For every bar bought, their non-profit partner makes a packet of food to send to countries in need, to help prevent malnutrition in children. These flavors are quite good and I love their cause. They have a dark chocolate, cherry, and sea salt I’d love to try!
Golden Moon Tea, Madagascar Vanilla – 2.5 oz, value: $3.99
I haven’t tried this tea yet but the website’s description makes it sound delicious:
“Madagascar mixes rich black tea with slices of real vanilla bean to produce a deep flavor that incorporates notes of dark rum, sweet earth and tropical flowers. Both smooth and exotic, this tea is great served with buttered toast as a special morning treat.”
Monkey Hanging Tea Infuser With Drip Plate – value: $8.97
This tea infuser is cute, but in the last two or three boxes have also had tea infusers in them. They’re cute with the themes, but I really don’t need that many or a new one that often.
Verdict: The value for this month’s Tea Box Express adds up to $23.11. I’m not happy with that value, especially because the infuser that I won’t use is the largest chunk of that, and I wouldn’t personally pay the price of the sub for a tin of tea, a chocolate bar, and a couple snack bars. However but I am glad to have found a couple new treats that I really like. I think that this box tends to be more about curation than a huge value, and we’ll see how next month’s box is.
