PrettyFit is a women’s fitness and health subscription box. You can preview the boxes before they ship and skip any month you aren’t interested in. You can also request to receive a different pack if it is still available, instead of the current month’s pack. This review is for the Protein Snack Pack (which is still available as of the time I’m writing this review).

I did not receive an information card this time, but you can get details on the products by going to the page for this pack.

The box it arrived in was plain cardboard. The only packing material was a piece of lavender tissue paper, but as you’ll see below, nothing in here was likely to be damaged in shipping.

PrettyFit Fitness Subscription Box Review + Coupon October 2015 - bakery

PrettyFit Fitness Subscription Box Review + Coupon October 2015 - card

Lemon White Chip Blondie by The Protein Bakery – Value $4.75

This had a nice lemon flavor and a spongy texture. I would totally eat one of these again, or at the very least, try adding lemon flavor and white chocolate chips to a blondie recipe. Note: I couldn’t find this exact item on their site, so I linked to an assortment of brownies and blondies.

Breakfast Cookies by The Protein Bakery – Value $3.50

I am normally not a fan of packaged cookies but these had a soft texture that won me over. I tried to eat mine straight out of the freezer (suggested on the included card) although they almost broke a tooth. I’d suggest letting them warm up for a bit, first, if you store them in the freezer.

Mini Peanut Butter Brownie by The Protein Bakery – Value $1.50

Of course I love chocolate. And peanut butter. Oddly, this did not have peanuts in the ingredients list, nor did it taste like peanut butter. But it was still good…

There was also a card with more information about The Protein Bakery.

PrettyFit Fitness Subscription Box Review + Coupon October 2015 - bars

QuestBar in Apple Pie – Value $2.39

QuestBar in Cinnamon Roll – Value $2.39

I eat a lot of bars because of subscription boxes. These have excellent nutrition (high protein and fiber, low sugar) but are not my favorite texture as they are uniform in consistency. They do taste good, though, and are nice autumn flavors.

AboutTime Island Coconut Bar – Value $2.99

These are made of dates, egg white protein, and unsweetened coconut. That’s it. They taste pretty much like date bars; the coconut isn’t really evident. I thought the egg white protein might make the texture weird, but I really couldn’t tell it was there.

Buff Bake Snickerdoodle Almond Butter Sample – Value $1 (?)

I had this on a sandwich. It was really difficult to effectively remove from the packet. I hope we get this flavor in a larger jar in a future box, because it was good. (Also, if anyone from Pretty Fit or Buff Bake is listening, I would love to try the Red Velvet Peanut Butter…)

PrettyFit Fitness Subscription Box Review + Coupon October 2015 - breakfast

FlapJacked Protein Pancake and Baking Mix – Value $8.99

This pancake mix has added whey protein to increase the overall protein count. You can bake a lot of different things with this, but we decided to try plain old pancakes (see below).

High Protein Coffee by Chike Nutrition – Value $2 (?)

I am one of the few people in the world who hates the taste and smell of coffee. I am thinking if I add small amounts of this to my morning smoothies (it is a dissolvable powder), I may not be able to taste the coffee and will still get the benefit from the protein?

PrettyFit Fitness Subscription Box Review + Coupon October 2015 - pancakes

Here are the pancakes. They really soaked up the syrup but I also think they left me fuller for longer than if I had made regular pancakes.

PrettyFit Fitness Subscription Box Review + Coupon October 2015 - cookie

Lenny & Larry’s Complete Cookie in Pumpkin Spice (2 cookies) – Value $4.17

I’ve had Complete Cookies before in other flavors. They’re vegan and I think the pumpkin spice flavor is great for fall. Oddly, one was crumbly and one was not, although they were supposed to be the same exact thing. I wish they weren’t 420 calories each, though, since they don’t come in resealable packages.

Kay’s Naturals Cinnamon Toast Pretzel Sticks – Value $1.49

These are gluten free and low in sugar. And the manufacturer did a great job of mimicking the texture of cinnamon sugar on the outside of the sticks. However, I was not a fan. These are hard and dense and don’t remind me of pretzels at all. Maybe because the first ingredient was soy protein?

Chike Powdered Peanut Butter – Value $6.95

I’m loving this. If you mix it with water to make a paste, it supposedly resembles peanut butter with much less fat. I think the peanut butter you make this way is kind of weird, but I found that I like to mix it into my morning smoothies. Along with some cacao, it tastes wonderful. My fiancé has been putting it in his oatmeal and he is also a fan.

Buff Bake White Chocolate Peanut Butter – Value $10.99

We’ve been eating this on sandwiches this week. You have to stir it up a bit to mix, but it has a very smooth consistency once stirred and I love the combination of white chocolate and peanut butter flavors. You’d never know they had added more protein if you didn’t see it on the jar.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $53 for this PrettyFit box. PrettyFit advertises it as being over $65 in value so it’s a little lower than that. However, it did come in at slightly more than the cost of the subscription, and that’s about average for a box consisting entirely of food. I think there was a nice mix between powdered products, bars, pantry items, and snacks/desserts, and I liked the fall theme of a lot of the items (apple pie, pumpkin spice, etc.).

This subscription seems to alternate between supplement-heavy months and protein bar/powder/etc. heavy months. I have to admit, I do like the food-heavy months like this one more. What I like is that you can customize it – if a certain month is not for you, you can skip or request an alternate pack. This makes it a great subscription for vegetarians, because you can take the protein boxes and skip any gelatin-containing supplements. Many of the items are also gluten free. This subscription is probably not a good choice for vegans, however, because I see a lot of honey, dairy, and sometimes egg. This month had a lot of nut-based ingredients, as well.

I have been a subscriber for about a year now and have been very pleased. Have found some great products and their customer service has been wonderful. I also like that you can skip a month if the selection is not for you.
