Meowbox is a monthly subscription box for cats filled with fun, unique toys and natural, grain-free, organic, or locally-made treats.
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Cost: $32.95 a month (save with longer subscription plans)
The Products: 5-7 toys and treats per month for your cat.
Good to know: Meowbox will substitute non-food items for cats with special dietary requirements. (There is a box to check during the signup process if you want to do this.) And for every Meowbox you buy, they give one can of food to a shelter cat!

I love this – they wrote my cats’ names inside the lid!

This was a small box, but it was packed full.
Included was an information card detailing the items in the box. (This did arrive in time for Halloween – I’m just a little late writing this review!)
Blue Wilderness Chicken & Trout Recipe Cat Treats (2 oz) – Value $2.83
Wellness Pure Delights Turkey & Salmon Jerky (3 oz) – Value $16.99
I was surprised at the price for the Wellness treats but they were priced like that everywhere I found them. They’re grain free, which is great, but I thought the inflammatory bowel disease-safe lamb jerky treats I buy were expensive at $6.95 a bag!
Also. One thing I learned with this box is not to leave it where my cats can get to it. I found the contents scattered across the dining room floor not once but twice. The Wellness treats got carried all the way UPSTAIRS to the bedroom the first time. The second time, they ended up like this:
My cats gorged themselves a little too much on these so I am making them wait to try the other treats…
Handmade Candy Corn Catnip Toy from The Empurrium – Value $6.50
Catnip toys are always a hit. This has moved around the bedroom floor some, so I know my kitties are playing with it. (I couldn’t find this specific toy in the Empurrium store, so I’m linking to something similar and using the price from that.)
Wellifish Bavarian Cat Toy – Value $6.99
This smelled weird. Kind of like cheese or something. But my cats thought it was the greatest thing ever, which is sort of the point. These are hard to find online but are available locally in some states.
PetStages Plaque Away Pretzel – Value $2.95
I don’t know how well these actually clean teeth, but I have had other toys with this texture before that my cats seem to like.
Ruff & Whiskerz Wildlife Cherperz – Value $3.99
This is supposed to make noise – I couldn’t get it to. Although I kind of don’t like noisemaking cat toys because they tend to wake me up at 3AM, when the cats suddenly take an interest. But my cats enjoy the feathers, so that’s good.
And now, some gratuitous cat photos:
Sneaky will bite anything you hold in front of her. ANYTHING.
Mr. Kitty isn’t too happy in this photo. He has an infection in both eyes and he has been getting a lot of eye drops lately.
It’s hard to photograph Madison because you can’t ever see his face. But he likes both of this month’s soft toys quite a bit.
Monkey and Madison actually got into a little spat about who got to play with the smelly blue fish…
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $40 for the October 2015 Meowbox. Granted, I’m totally unsure of some of the prices because the items are handmade and/or hard to find online. So it could be a little less. This is a reasonable value for a pet box, especially since pretty much everything was a hit with my cats. (I have enough cats that usually at least one of them will like any given item!)
What did you think of the October 2015 Meowbox? Do you subscribe to any cat boxes?
