GlobeIn November Box

The theme for the upcoming GlobeIn November 2015 Box is… Bedroom! More from GlobeIn:

The bedroom is a place of rest and renewal for our most quiet, private selves. It’s the place where we wake out of sleep and that we return to each night, back from the world, to dream and to love and to look in the mirror.

Tucked away from the public, the bedroom is a place that beckons us to soften. Each item in your box is aimed toward enhancing this room’s ability to nourish and revive, to return you to yourself through simple, personal pleasures.

And the latest spoiler is:

GlobeIn Spoiler #2

Each Bedroom Box will come with a Handmade Bud Vase from Ten Thousand Villages. (Retail Value: $12).

(Vases will come in the same size and color but in a few slightly different shapes).

Your bud vase represents new beginnings for Tej Bhadur Prajapati from Nepal. Made with a combination of feldspar and other materials imported from India, your vase is the product of his own unique material and technique.

Through his craft, Tej supports the schooling of his two seven year-old twin daughters. Imagine being able to provide for your family while also being the first stoneware leader in your country!

Suggested use: Cast a little spell on your bedroom with the simple mystique of a single flower placed in your vase.

And in case you missed the first spoiler:

Each Bedroom Box will come with a Seahorse Pillow Pet from Guatemala.
(Retail Value: $22, colors will vary).

In K’iche,’ a Mayan language spoken in the Guatemalan highlands, the word y’abal means “hope.” By creating social programs and fair trade job opportunities for Guatemalan women weavers, Y’abal Handicrafts indeed represents hope for the women, their communities, and their culture.

Silvia Mazariegos is a tailor and designer that helped pilot Y’abal’s Pillow Pet product line. Recently, Silvia’s sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, a disease which has already taken the life of her eldest sister. For Silvia and her family, the pillow pet has indeed become a beacon of hope, especially the GlobeIn order of 1000 seahorses that came at just the right time. The whole family has organized to assist Silvia in the effort of cutting, sewing, stuffing, and assembling the pets, the proceeds of which will cover the sister’s costly path back to health.

Suggested use: Use as a throw pillow to add a splash of color to your bedding.

  1. This will be my first GlobeIn and I am honestly not stoked by these spoilers. I finally subbed, buying into the bedroom theme of renewal and comfort, thinking the items would feel personal and cozy. An ordinary looking small bud vase and a garish child’s toy do not speak to this theme at all. I am trying to remain optimistic until I can see and feel and hold the items but, so far, these spoilers are just disappointing and making me regret my purchase. Hopefully there will still be some nice items for grown ups in the box, items to bring relaxation and pampering to mind.

    • Just found the bud vase online. Three inches by three inches. Tiny. And on sale for six bucks. Please, someone tell me I haven’t made a mistake and they generally include nicer things than a tiny stoneware bud vase and a stuffed toy. http://www.tenthousandvillages.com/fresh-flower-bud-vase

  2. I really like this box so far. I think the little vase will made a great X-mas present. However, I’m not sure what to do with that little pillow. He’s cute but not my style and my little brother is probably too old for something like that (He’s 14). I might be putting it up for swap if anyone is hoping to collect a few more.

  3. Love it!

  4. This is the first GlobeIn box in 5 months that I am not excited about. I guess this one just isn’t my taste. Anyone know if it is possible to skip a month?

    • Yes! Email them. I have successfully skipped months.

      • Thank you!

  5. Are there any coupons for single box subscriptions? I love the spoilers for this box, but I don’t want to commit to 3 months just to use a coupon. I prefer to watch spoilers and order when one catches my attention

    • You can wait until it is released and buy it for $50 on globeIn website… If that helps. No coupon that I know of though or that I’ve seen..

  6. The vase is very pretty, but I’m a bit overloaded on bud vases due to subscription boxes, lol.

  7. Loving both spoilers so far! This box and the previous Cozy box are by far the best Globe In boxes I’ve received since I signed up. I hope they keep this up. I had been considering cancelling, but they’re definitely making me want to stick around!

  8. Really like that vase. This box keeps looking better and better.

  9. Wow! I’m super excited about this box. GlobeIn is one of my favorite boxes. They never fail. Now, time will go by slow until it arrives!
