Burke Decor’s spa box is a selection of 3-4 favorites from the Burke Decor editors and curated to your spa profile. Choose from Cool + Fresh, Warm + Earthy, or Floral + Fruit. This is a review of the Warm + Earthy box.
FYI: this is the last spa subscription box from Burke Decor. Starting November 15th, Burke Boxes will be available for one-time purchases on the Burke Decor site.
This was packaged MUCH better than last month. Much better. Big improvement. (I heard about a lot of people getting broken items and I was no exception. I would say they learned a packaging lesson.)
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)
This month, there was no custom Burke Decor box inside the outer shipping box – the outer box was it. Also, there wasn’t an information card.
The Subscription Box: Burke Decor Spa Box
The Cost: $45 per month with an additional $6 charge for shipping (the shipping charge is not obvious on the site).
The Products: Full sized spa items selected by the Burke Decor editors.
Ships to: US

Sir Elton John’s Woodside Garden Candle Design by Nest – Value $38
This is strongly floral (has hyacinth, freesia, rose, and jasmine notes). Not exactly “warm and earthy,” although I do like the scent. They’re a little cagey on the ingredients: “Candles are made with a premium, soft, highly refined, cosmetic-grade wax that was developed over many years to optimize burn and fragrance diffusion. The ingredients used are the highest grade of wax materials and the finest fragrance oils available.” I have a couple of chemistry degrees and that doesn’t really tell me anything.
Paseo Embossed Gold Notebook by Christian Lacroix – Value $15
Well this is pretty, but it is not what I would have expected from a “spa” themed box. (Maybe this is just me, but “spa” to me means candles, bath and body items, maybe some fancy skincare, etc.) My to-do lists will look very nice for awhile…
Adjustable Ring – Value ?
Stretch Bracelet – Value ?
I really have no idea how to even guess values for these. Because there was no information card, there were no materials listed, and that is going to make a big difference. Also, there just weren’t any items comparable to either of these on their site.
Here’s a better look at the items. Again, other than the fact that jewelry seems to be listed in the Burke Decor “spa” category on their site, there’s nothing about this that says “spa” to me. Don’t get me wrong, I think they are pretty and I will wear both.
Verdict: I could not even calculate a value for the Burke Decor Spa Box this month. Just the candle and notebook together are over the cost of the box plus shipping, and I’m sure the jewelry would be at least $20-30 more on top of that. Strictly in terms of what the items would sell for, the value is there.
However, this box was just odd for me. It was not at all “warm + earthy” as promised. In fact, only one item had a scent (or was even remotely spa-related) and that was decidedly floral. I sort of feel like I got a box of closeouts and discontinued items, like they were giving up since this is the last month of their subscription. (This has happened to me before with subscriptions that were ending.)
In the end, I like all the items, and I will use them. But imagine if you ordered a bunch of beauty items and got office supplies and jewelry instead? That’s kind of what happened here.
