Stitch Fix is a monthly styling subscription service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey about your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences, and then your personal stylist sends you 5 items to try once a month. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

FYI – My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different!

Stitch Fix Review October 2015 - info 1

Each box comes with cards with styling suggestions for every piece, plus a letter from your stylist. Turns out my stylist is still the girl who did most of my fixes while I was pregnant!

Stitch Fix Review October 2015 - info 2

And this is my invoice sheet. It lists the prices per item and the discount I’d receive by keeping all 5 items. With the 25% discount and my $20 styling fee factored in, this box would cost me a total of $227.50 to keep – approximately $45.50 an item.

Pixley Montgomery Cross Front Knit Top – Cost to Keep: $48

This top is so comfortable and I feel it’s very flattering. I love the wrap-front and that it’s sleeveless without having any issues with bra straps showing. I love everything about this shirt!

Liverpool Mira Skinny Jean – Cost to Keep: $78

These skinny jeans are everything I could ask for from a pair of skinnies. They fit like a dream and the rise is perfect and gives me just enough help with the post-partum tummy. They’re pull-on, actually, and they have plenty of stretch – you wouldn’t believe how comfy these are. I’m definitely keeping these; I actually had a pair of black skinnies in my cart from an online store and now I have these and don’t have to wonder or worry about ordering online!

Andrew Marc Florina Faux Leather Moto Jacket – Cost to Keep: $98

By the feel of it, I could tell this was a really quality leather jacket. So much so that I was actually surprised that the price was only $98. I like the way it looks but unfortunately, I just don’t wear jackets that hit me this short in the torso because it’s Fall for about 2 weeks here in Michigan and then you need a heavy/warmer coat for 5-6 months.

Skies Are Blue Kimball Crochet Panel Top – Cost to Keep: $48

This shirt does me no favors at all. Oh, well, this is definitely going back.

Gilli Judy Textured Pencil Skirt – Cost to Keep: $58

Pencil skirts generally don’t work for me, and this one was no exception.

Here is a better look at the detail on the Skies are Blue top.

Verdict: Even though I’m only keeping two items (the wrap top and skinny jeans), I’m really happy with this month’s Stitch Fix because of how much I love those two things. This is my first non-pregnant Stitch Fix, so both my stylist and I have just a little figuring out to do between my post baby body and the changing of the seasons where I live.

I think they did a pretty good job. I even think the black top looked nice on you. :-).
Minnesota over here and I am a mom of little ones and I have to say; taking care of little ones can be draining and sometimes you just need to feel like a sexy woman. If your budget allows – keep that jacket! Even in Minnesota you can wear that jacket during someof fall, spring and heck on a cool summer night.

I love Stitch Fix! It took several months….maybe 4 but then so great! I just kept working with them and it worked. Free shipping both ways….why not keep trying? I also love Wantable, but still in working on it phase. Good luck….patience!

LOVE that jacket!

I just received my second fix and wanted to keep everything but one item, but the budget didn’t allow me to do that this time, so I just kept one top (a beautiful dark floral blouse). So far, my stylist has been on point. The jeans I got in my last box were heavenly and fit me PERFECTLY. I don’t think I’ve ever worn a pair of jeans that fit me so well, so I definitely love them for that.

I’d consider keeping the jacket. It’s adorable on you just as you’re wearing it in the pic.

I’m finally done with Stitch Fix. They do not listen to my feedback (eg, keep sending me sleeveless shirts when I’ve said MULTIPLE times I don’t want sleeveless!) and in this last shipment I got, one of the pieces had visible marks/scratches on the front. If they’re asking people to pay full price, they need to send clean, high-quality stuff.

It’s sad because my first few fixes were great! But it’s no longer fun to open the box anymore :/

Me too. I’ve had a couple really good stylists in the past but lately it doesn’t seem like the ones I’ve gotten have listened to my feedback. The items they’ve sent me in the past 3 months have been awful! I requested darker or colored jeans (not faded or too flared) that I could wear to work and in my last fix I got some terrible faded, bell-bottom jeans covered in holes. I mean, seriously?! I have a very detailed Pinterest board but the items they send don’t match what I like. I think I’m done with them… I can do much better on my own shopping the sales anyway.

I also requested no polyester and got all poly twice. So over Stitch Fix!

I tried Stitch Fix multiple times and was never impressed with it. I did a very involved Pinterest board, as suggested…they never even looked at it. Just lots of cheap polyester tops and really poor fitting jeans. I don’t think anything I kept I still have…it was all taken to Plato’s Closet. I am interested in trying Wantable though…it seems people are actually having some good results with it.

That’s so funny because I specifically said, two boxes in a row, do NOT send me polyester…and every single item was polyester. Twice in a row! I cancelled and never looked back. They really don’t read the comments you put on your order, and I felt like they didn’t really try that hard.

I’m from Michigan as well so I applaud you for being sensible and staying away from the leather jacket. It just unfortunately does not work with our weather! I agree with the other readers that the wrap top works fabulous for you! Seeing you model the clothes is also absolutely fantastic. It’s the reason I decided to even try stitch fix in the first place because I wasn’t just looking at a mannequin. Keep it up! Much love from the mitten state

Ok, that jacket looks incredible on you. I’m not a fan of cropped styles either, but layered over a longer top as you have it, it looks fabulous. You should keep it! Although I think $98 is a lot for faux leather, but that looks like a good quality one that will last you a long time.

Also I think the pencil skirt is very flattering on you.
