Moustache Stationary Subscription Box Review October 2015 - 4

Looking through the past boxes from this sub, I think this could quickly become my favorite!  There are so many cool items included.  I so wish I found it in time to get the waterproof notebook in the June box...It would come in handy at work!  (My desk always has a big glass of water and coffee somewhere on it...and inevitably, one of those spills more often than I'd like!)

Palomino Blackwing Pearl Pencils - set of 12 - $22.95

So.  If pencils could look down their nose at someone...I'm pretty sure these would look down their nose at me.  These are, hands down, the fanciest pencils I've ever had in my possession.  They are perfectly balanced graphite, glossy, and have replaceable erasers!  REPLACEABLE! (Can you tell I'm excited about these?) I can't wait to use them, but half of me is saying "My preciousssss...." and wanting to save them forever unsharpened.

Palomino Blackwing Long Point Sharpener - $11.00

This pencil sharpener uses a two-part process to sharpen the pencil.  The first sharpener sharpens the wood and the second sharpens the graphite.  Again...quite fancy!

Palomino Blackwing Pearl Replaceable Erasers - $2.95

These are the replacement erasers for the pencils.  When I first pulled them out of the box, I had no idea what they were {further reinforcing to me that the pencils are better than me! (and also explaining why they are pictured separately from the pencils)}.  I finally figured it out, all the while being so excited that I can now erase with reckless abandon - not worrying about rendering my pencil useless after its eraser has dwindled.  (I might have a pencil problem, but I'm not sure...

Palomino Small Flex Notebooks - Triple Set - $8.95

These are a nice size for my purse!  I have quite a few notebooks to get through right now (I might have a hoarding problem), but I will definitely get around to using these!

Verdict:  I really loved this box.  The value of the items add up to about $45.85, so it isn't an amazing value, but you are getting what you paid for the box.  One thing that was a little curious to me, is that I received my box in October, yet I received September's shipment.  Obviously, I'm OK with that - I loved the box - I'm just wondering if I'll get October's box in November, etc.  I guess I will wait and see!  If you're a stationary lover, and always want...need...more, I would definitely recommend checking out Moustache Stationery!

What did you think about the items in this month's shipment?

Starting at $39.95

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

Blackwing pencils are fabulous! The company name/manufacturing process was bought and reopened years ago because people remembered the pencils growing up. I’ve since used them for years (at work and for drawing) and can say they are with every penny. The pearl is either a newer edition or a rare one, as I’ve only seen them in the last two years. I hope you enjoy them!

Best stationary supply review EVER! Your review strikes a chord with my obsession as well.

“My preciousssss….” That cracked me up Bekki! I also have a little stationery hoarding problem, but mine is with small and mid-sized notebooks. I have several drawers full and keep buying them! I do use them, so I guess that makes it okay!??

I think since you use them, it’s definitely justifiable. Since I don’t…I’ll have to write them into my will or something.

I LOVE stationery supplies and have debated getting this box. Perhaps it will go on my wishlist for the holidays. And please, stationery is spelled with an e!

Oops! My mistake, I’m sorry. I am corrected and will make a mental note from here forward.

In regards to the box, I definitely recommend it!

I have this weird obsession with old-school pencils. I have hundreds and hundreds of them at home, even though I rarely use them anymore.

As for when you received it, I think some of the Cratejoy subscriptions we are sent to review are mailed out at a later time than regular subscribers get their boxes, based on my own experience. Like I got the September Cat Lady box in October (and thought it was for October…), but subscribers received October boxes with different stuff not too long after.

My firm just moved into a new building and while unpacking I came across a set of beautiful pastel pencils that came with a set over 14 years ago. I never so much as opened them let alone sharpened them. And yet I’ve moved them at least 13 times, to the 8 states and 5 countries I’ve lived in/been stationed at during my military active duty and reserve service. It makes me happy just to see them so I don’t think it’s weird at all. Of course I’m not exactly unbiased….

There are worse obsessions to have Ragan!

And that makes sense. I was confused, but figured there had to be some reasoning/logic behind it.
