Plum Deluxe Cuddletime Herbal Tea – 1 oz, value: $7
I’m excited to get back into tea now that it’s officially Fall again. This tea contains chamomile, peppermint leaves, and vanilla essence with a rooibos tea base. Sounds pretty good to me!
Starlooks “Perfect Size” Lip Gloss in “Cuddle” – value: $9
I have to begin my spiel about this gloss by saying that I can’t believe this gloss sells for $9. It’s called “perfect size” like they’re trying to use that word instead of saying “mini.” I was just really surprised that this is a size Starlooks actually sells retail because it’s what I would expect a sample size to be from any cosmetic company. I can’t find a weight measurement on either the gloss or their website, but I included a picture to help show the size below.
Also, many of you did point out on this month’s Full-Sized Dottie Box review (which also included a Starlooks item) that Dottie Box is supposed to be about supporting small and independent businesses and artists and such, but Starlooks is does not fall under that category, so choosing to feature them in one of their boxes is a really odd choice.
As you can see, this gloss is only about two or three inches long, and the cap takes up half of that. Sorry for the dim lighting – I took this photo after the others because I felt it was important to help you see the size since I couldn’t find a weight listed.
Here’s a swatch of the gloss. It is a pretty color with some nice shimmer!
Broken Record Howlite Necklace – value: $18.50
I love this necklace! I love how simple it is, that the metal is silver, and it’s really cool without being too girly!
Kern + Flourish Gift Certificate – value: $10
I love that this is a gift certificate with a straight-up dollar amount vs just a coupon. Kern + Flourish has some beautiful prints.
The Sudsy Soapery Coupon
The info card lists a coupon for Dermadeli, but one isn’t included in my box. Instead, I have a coupon for the Sudsy Soapery. That’s not too big of a deal to me since coupons are just extras in boxes to me anyway, but I wanted to mention it.
The Verdict: The value of this month’s mini Dottie Box comes out to $44.50 ($34.50 if you exclude the gift certificate, but since it’s a flat dollar amount I think it’s fine for it to count towards the total value of the box). I’m pretty happy with that value. I do think it’s odd that they included a product from Starlooks since they’re not a small or independent business, but I just hope next month it’s back to normal.
