Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray – FULL SIZE! Value $12.50

(Good to know for swaps – this is sealed in plastic).

I love water sprays! I use them more in the summer when I need a little refresher, but maybe I’ll start using these post workout.

Follimedica Hair Regrowth Treatment – FULL SIZE! Value $35

This full-size 2-ounce version is a one month supply of the treatment. FYI – this product has an expiration date of 12/15.

Replenix Neckletage – .35 oz Value $15

This neck cream is designed to boost collagen and elastin while also lightening uneven skin tone. I don’t get many neck-specific skincare samples in subscriptions, so I’m excited to try this one. So far, no skin irritation, and no added fragrance either!

100% Pure Coffee Bean Eye Cream – .3 oz Value $7.50

(Good to know for swaps – tip of applicator must be cut off to use).

I’ve sampled this eye cream before thanks to Birchbox (I love the 100% Pure Brand), and I think the formula is very gentle. I didn’t notice any changes in fine lines or dark circles, but if you are looking for a non-irritating eye cream, I would recommend trying this one.

Ahava Dead Sea Water Mineral Hand Cream – 20 ml Value $4.20

This hand cream is a great one – it absorbs quickly and adds a lot of moisture. It isn’t too heavily scented either.

Cargo Crease Resistant Eyeshadow in Moreton Bay – FULL SIZE! Value $16

(All subscribers will receive the same color).

I like Cargo eyeshadows (and I have a bit of a collection now thanks to subscription boxes!). This is pretty well-pigmented, and can be blended out into a wearable shade for me! (Swatched below)

Osmosis Eye Pencil in Navy – FULL SIZE! Value $14

(Subscribers will receive 1 of 4 shades: charcoal, black, navy or plum)

This is a water resistant eyeliner – and it really does not budge once you get it on! AKA I had this swatch on my arm for the whole day because my regular makeup wipes weren’t doing the job! (Swatched below):

Roloxin Instant Skin Smoothing Mask (2) 4 grams total Value $15

(FYI – the full-size mask packs are 3 grams each).

This mask is designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and pores for 24 hours. Here is how to use it:

-Activate sachet by squeezing vigorously for 20 seconds.
-Apply an even layer over cleansed damp skin of the face (including eye area) and neck.
-Rinse it away after it dries to a white powder, rinsing thoroughly with only the hands and water. Pat dry.

I’ve tried the Roloxin before and I noticed a slight improvement with it, so I’m interested in trying it again. It looks like the product and/or the packaging is new!

Blue Copper 5 Molecular Repair Treatment – 4 ml Value $6.80

(Good to know for swaps – tip of applicator must be cut off to use).

This sample is on the small side, but I should be able to get a few uses out of it. It’s a facial cream designed to improve elasticity and firmness, and I like the gel-like texture and refreshing scent.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $126. I won’t use the most expensive item in the box (the hair restoring treatment), but besides that item, I’m happy with the value and contents of the box. I think the October box has a good mix of makeup and skincare products, and most of the items are a good size too.

What do you think of the October 2015 Beauty Fix box?

  1. I ordered the discount box, which hasn’t shipped, and then was charged for the November box which supposedly shipped today. I thought they charged at the end of the month and I’d have time to consider the subscription. Did that happen to anyone else? Not loving the customer service so far.

    • Yes just happened to me did you call customer service?

      • I just got the email alert. Going to call in the morning. You?

    • Yes, just happened to me too. I did an online chat with a rep, and she suggested asking for a return label once the Nov box arrives, if I decide I don’t want it. She also canceled the sub for me. I’ll re-sub if I like the boxes after they arrive, but they really need to figure out their timing better.

  2. Very excited to try this sub!
I’ve already had a great experience with their customer service!
I accidentally checked that I wanted the brightening peel at checkout, and they were able to fix this for me immediately.
Such a contrast to Popsugar. Worst CS ever.

  3. I got this box for the discounted intro price, so I’m satisfied!! The Cargo shadow is what made me subscribe 🙂
The hair growth stuff is the only thing I won’t use, but I can just donate that.

  4. This is the first month in a long time that I haven’t received this box. I unsubscribed last month after getting a box full of small samples and stuff that had been sent before. It’s interesting that one product this month expires in just a few months. . . that happens a lot with this sub (Plus I swear I’ve received products that have gone bad, like lotions that have an ‘off’ smell to them). I do hope everyone enjoys their boxes, but I would like to see Dermstore really step it up in the future.

    • I had the exact same experience. The BB cream I received last month is old & separating 🙁 So disappointed BC I’m a skincare fanatic & had extremely high hopes for this box. Oh & beside the BB cream the entire box was filled with not for resale small samples. Then this month they send a hair growth system for those with alopecia that expires soon, that a majority of subscribers will not be able to use & cannot exactly pass it on BC its soon to expire? So obviously trying to unload bad/old product. That really left a bad taste in my mouth. Unsubscribed immediately.

  5. This box looks like fun. I broke down and sub.? I’m loving this box. Liz your killing me! I can’t keep meeting here and subscribing to all these boxes. But I sure am enjoying it. ? I worked in the beauty field all my life but know I’m working at home, so trying all these samples are great. I actually am buying the full size items.??. The only thing is, I’m loving most of them. And now I want my close friends to try and just bought a sub for my BFF. ?I’m addicted ? ☺️

    • Aren’t subscription boxes the best?! 🙂 And I think that makes you an amazing BFF!

      • You are so sweet Liz? thank you. I’m sure she’s going to love it. I need to share that beautiful feeling of opening a box and trying the products and feeling like a princess.??? I just love my boxes. They are the best! Thanks to you ?

  6. FYI to the people willing to use the minoxidil without needing it: you won’t grow any extra hair it only works on follicles that have been inactivated. Once you stop using it it will make your real hair fall out and it will take some time for it to grow back

    • yikes! Women need to know this because I would use thinking it would make my hair thicker.

    • That has not been my experience with minoxidil. For me, my hair grew much longer, way faster then normal. I didn’t notice that my hair was thicker but my hair is already pretty thick so there is that.

      • From a pharmacological standpoint, that is what happens. Do you use it regularly?

  7. Beautyfix has an interesting mixture this month. The eye makeup looks pretty. I love 100% Pure Products. I’m to receive the Avene Water in my Birchbox. I wonder if it will be the same size.

  8. Don’t regret canceling but the spoilers for next month could always bring me back! The only thing I love this month is the 100% pure eye cream

    • I’m with you. There isn’t enough there this month that would make me want to resubscribe, but I may do it next month. It seems to me that now that since they started with the 1/2 off offer, they really have downgraded what they include in the box.

  9. I was pleased with this box. I am not balding, but I will use the hair growth stuff anyways, lol. I received the plum eyeliner, it goes well with the eyeshadow. I really like this subscription because I get to try high priced items that I normally would not purchase. I love saving money and this box usually delivers a grear value. I have a lot of subs that I’m going to have to cut back, but this one and Boxycharm will not be canceled. I have so much makeup and skin care items that I had two purchase rolling carts with drawers to store them. I think I’m going to start getting lifestyle boxes and more food boxes. I’ve never tried the whole ” swap thing” because it seems a little intimidating. I probably should sit down one day and figure it out.

  10. That Cargo shadow color is so pretty!

  11. The hair regrowth thing confused me. Sorta weird. I wonder if it will help me grow my hair longer 🙂

  12. I too am not pleased with the hair regrowth treatment. Did you see the warning on the side? Yeah, I will stick to extensions. Still really like this box. It’s one of my favorites.

    • I haven’t received mine yet. What does the warning say?

      • It’s kind of a lot. You could just google the active ingredient minoxidil.

    • Found the side effects. Eek! I already have problems with tachycardia and panic attacks, which minoxidil could make more severe. Nope!

      • I am totally the same. I stay clear of anything that messes with my heart. Besides, still seems like a bad idea for anyone. Why risk it?

  13. My favorite box!!! I don’t need the hair growth treatment thank god! But the rest of the box is wonderful!!

  14. im happy with my box. love beauty fix!

    • Yay! Glad you liked this month’s box too! 🙂
