Here’s a photo of everything unpacked from the box. It really is a lot of candy!

Candy Club Subscription Box Review + Coupon August 2015 - Straws

Dorval Sour Power Pink Lemonade Straws

Candy Club often includes at least one sour candy, and I’m always pleased to see sour belts or straws in the box. These sour straws are quite puckering, and I’m a fan of the pink lemonade flavor.

Candy Club Subscription Box Review + Coupon August 2015 - Watermelon

Allan Sour Watermelon Slices

Sour Watermelon Slices are one of my favorite candies, so I’m very pleased to see them included in this month’s shipment. Allan’s version is mildly sour and has a subtle watermelon flavor. They’re soft, sweet, and a little chewy.

Candy Club Subscription Box Review + Coupon August 2015 - Raspberry

Gimbal's Raspberry Chews

I usually have great luck with the sweets that Candy Club sends, but these raspberry chews aren’t my favorite. The raspberry flavor is muted, and I don’t think I’d be able to pick out that they’re raspberry flavored if I didn’t already know.

Candy Club Subscription Box Review + Coupon August 2015 - Honey

Primrose Honey Filled Candies

These Primrose Honey Candies are something of a mystery. According to the Candy Club information card, each candy should have a liquid honey center, but every candy I’ve tried so far has been solid. I thought that perhaps Candy Club made an error or confused these with a different candy, but they’re described similarly elsewhere online. Perhaps this batch just didn’t get filled? I’m not sure. Regardless, the candy is tasty. The yellow candies, in particular, have a nice honey flavor. The wrapping is also adorable:

Candy Club Subscription Box Review + Coupon August 2015 - Rendezvous

Rendez Vous Mini Bon Bons

(This item isn’t listed on the information card, so I’m assuming it’s a bonus item that was added after the cards were printed.)

These French fruit bon bons are so cute!

They’re tiny, and the fruit flavors are each distinct and delicious.

Verdict: This month’s box from Candy Club definitely had some highs and lows. The raspberry chews weren’t my favorite, and I’m a little mystified by the missing honey centers in the Primrose Honey Filled Candies. On the other hand, I’m a fan of the sour straws, bon bons, and sour watermelon. In terms of value, Candy Club claims that each box will have a retail value of $60. I struggle a little bit with that because, while similar pricing is typical at high-end candy stores like Dylan’s Candy Bar, you can definitely purchase the same candy for a lot less if you buy it in bulk online. Still, I think Candy Club’s packaging and candy selection add a lot of value, and I think this subscription is a fun indulgence.

I had posted on their facebook page that it was my 3rd out of 6 boxes and I wasn’t overly thrilled that almost all of the “YouTube” videos that I watched, always had the bonus item each month. In fact, that was one of the selling points of the box for me (I really, really wanted those Jones’ Carbonated candies). That evening they posted for me to call their 1-800 number. The customer rep that I got told me that it had been a special promotion that they had offered in April, that subscribers could add these on for a certain amount of months with a small extra paid fee. He then informed me that the promotion had ended, was no longer available & wasn’t sure if they’d offer it again. I’m not sure if I was just told that to hush me up… I do love this idea and all but it seems that there has been an overload of hard candy since I subbed. Sadly, I am not a huge fan of hard candy, perhaps it’s because I had SO much chunked down me as I was growing up!!!!

My sixth box and STILL no bonus. It is frustrating when others get them and those who contact the company still get them after the fact. Despite my attempts, I was simply left without any bonuses. I finally canceled.

When do they ship? I was charged on August 28th, no box yet.

Box looks great. Too bad I was charged and still haven’t received mine. Customer service seems to be non existent as well. You have to leave a message when you call and no one calls back and their capcha was not working to send them a message so it would not allow me to send it, also no one has responded to my email. I loved my first box and am very disappointed at the moment at the poor customer service. I can’t get ahold of anyone to find out what happened to mine. It’s a sad candy day.

I was just about to sign up using the $20 off first box coupon but decided not to after reading the comments. Just saved money, customer service frustration and cavities 🙂 Thanks!

Ditto. The last thing I need in life is a hassle over candy, so thanks?

Tracy

My fifth box and my fifth time not receiving a bonus item. So frustrating!

I have the same problem. I emailed them last month and they did send the bonus item out. This was my second email to them. I emailed them when my first box didn’t have one and they tried to tell me they no longer were including the bonus items. I called them out on that in the second email since I still saw people continue to get the bonus item. We will see if I get one for september. I will probably be cancelling after my I get my October box since that will be my last of my prepaid 6 month subscription.

I subscribed for 4 months on and off all 4 boxes never a bonus item, 3 of the boxes were identical and the fourth had identical items as the other months but the surrounding candy was taffy which of course melted. Their customer service reeks as well

Oh and the boxes are always perfect on here as I’m sure candy club knows it’s being reviewed. Lol

Looks like a yummy box to me. I wish they had a quarterly box as this is too much money, value questions aside, for me to spend monthly on candy. Plus, I tend to go through candy slooowly, so the monthly box every month would be too much for me.
