Love with Food Subscription Box Review & Coupon – August 2015 - Brochure

Each box comes with a brochure detailing the theme and the items selected for the month. This month’s theme is “Road Trip.”

Love with Food Subscription Box Review & Coupon – August 2015 - FoldOut

The brochure provides a quick description of the items included in the box and clearly outlines which items are gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO, etc. I like that they display this information so prominently.

Love with Food Subscription Box Review & Coupon – August 2015 - 479

Asiago Parmesan + Cheddar Popcorn by 479 Degrees (.5 oz)- $1.69

I love cheesy popcorn, and this bag is no exception. The blend of parmesan, asiago, and cheddar is a little tangy, and (unlike most cheesy popcorn) I think it actually tastes like real cheese!

Go Organic Apple Hard Candies (3.5 oz.)- $2.20

I’ve received Go Organic hard candy before in subscription boxes, but this is my first time trying the apple flavor. To my surprise and delight, it tastes like real apple juice! Go Organic makes a wide range of flavors, and I’ll think I’ll keep an eye out for more. I’m particularly interested in trying Iced Mint Mango and Ginger Xtreme!

Love with Food Subscription Box Review & Coupon – August 2015 - Kind

Enlightened Garlic & Onion Roasted Broad Beans (1 oz.)- $1

These toasted broad beans are tossed in onion and crushed garlic and are a healthy alternative to other crunchy, salty snacks. This small bag contains 3 grams of fiber, 7 grams of protein, and only 100 calories. Best of all? It tastes great, too!

Popped Salted Caramel Kind Bar (35 g.)- $.69

This Kind Popped Bar is kind of like a granola bar/ rice krispy treat hybrid. The flavor is great, and I love that it contains 20 grams of whole grains but still seems like a treat.

Love with Food Subscription Box Review & Coupon – August 2015 - WildFriends

La Pandanella Rosemary Croccantini (.58 oz.)

La Pandanella Croccantini are crispy and delicate crackers that can be eaten alone or with cheese, hummus, or cured meats. I really like the rosemary flavor, and I think they’d be beautiful served alongside a cheese plate.

Wild Friends Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter (1.15 oz.)- $1.10

I’ve tried Wild Friends nut butters before, and I’m a fan. I think this is my first time receiving the Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter, and I’m tempted to try and scale down the recipe for Wild Friends Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter Banana Bread. It looks pretty good!

Love with Food Subscription Box Review & Coupon – August 2015 - Fruity

Fruity Pie Fig and Walnut (25 g.)- $1

The best way I can think to describe Fig Fruity Pie is like this: it tastes like Fig Newton filling. I’m definitely a fan.

Stash Tea Lemon Rooibos Iced Herbal Tea Powder (1 stick)- $.35

I’ve never heard of iced tea powder before (apart from Crystal Light), and I’m thrilled to report that it’s great! It tastes like real tea! I usually keep a carafe of iced herbal tea in my fridge during the summer, and this would be a great, quick substitute for days when I’m behind on my brewing.

Love with Food Subscription Box Review & Coupon – August 2015 - Coupons

As always, Love with Food also included a number of coupons and promotional materials to accompany the products in this month’s box.

Verdict: I enjoyed this month’s Love with Food tasting box! I think my favorite items are the popcorn, hard candy, and fig round, but I thought everything was tasty. A few months ago, Love with Food lowered the prices on all of their boxes, and the Tasting Box is now $9.99 per month or $7.99 per month with an annual subscription. The value this month comes in around $9, which I’m happy with.

I get the Deluxe box and only enjoy about half the items–the rest seem like odd snacks I wouldn’t normally buy and are not my taste so I think I will let this lapse. With the lowered price I think the tasting box is a good value and I actually like what Lindsey received much more than my larger box, so I may downsize and give it a try.

While I can’t think of anything worse than a road trip– I have a very long plane ride next week and can’t wait to enjoy these snacks during it. Love the selection.

My last “road trip” was my move from the Kansas City area to Atlanta. The moving truck broke down in the mountains west of Chattanooga and it was a weekend so Budget wasn’t very good about answering their phones. In my car I had a cat, a Rottweiler, two hamsters, 18 small birds, a 6-foot iguana, a small tortoise, and two fish in an igloo cooler. All of us (including my parents and one of my brothers) had to wait in a parking lot in the middle of nowhere for 4-5 hours for a tow truck to come. So yeah, road trips don’t evoke fond feelings from me either…

I’m thinking of getting Love with Food again (I’ve been subscribed a time or two in the past). I probably would’ve liked almost everything this month. Although those Hello Fresh! cards are almost a joke at this point, I’ve gotten them so many times (even in Glossybox…).
