Dottie Box Mini Subscription Box Review – August 2015 - items 1

Koco and Viking Dreams Necklace – value: $18

Dottie Box Drink Koozie – value: $4.99?

We don’t really have a need for drink koozies, so this one will get passed along or swapped. This necklace is really cute, though! I like the quote.

Dottie Box Mini Subscription Box Review – August 2015 - items 2

Handcrafted Brunette 20% Off Coupon

OMstacks 15% Off Coupon

Dottie Box almost always includes coupons to featured retailers, but this month this OMstacks coupon is listed on the info card like it’s supposed to be a main item. I think it’s great when subscriptions include coupons and promo codes, but I don’t think they should be counted towards the total value if it’s not a code for a free something without the need to enter card info.

Spruce & Fresh Morning Glory Soap – value: $8

The packaging for this soap is beautiful – I’m a sucker for gold foil on packaging! Also, the Energetic Orange Rose scent is really nice.

Dottie Box Mini Subscription Box Review – August 2015 - items 4

Here’s what the bar of soap looks like unwrapped – the metallic gold and pink is so pretty!

The Verdict: The value of this month’s mini Dottie Box comes out to $30.99, which I’m pretty happy with, but I wish they had included maybe one more item to boost the value and be a fourth featured item instead of the coupon.

What do you think about this month’s mini Dottie Box?

The necklace was the first thing I noticed when I opened the box and I can’t get past the fact it says lead instead of led 🙁

Yep, first thing I thought was “Did they seriously send that out to everyone?” Yikes. I have never loved the dottie boxes. Seems like you just don’t get much for the price. But I think you do great reviews, Haley!

Thank you, Victoria. I feel so silly for not noticing that when I opened the box! Oops!

The necklace has a typo. It should be “led” and not “lead.”

So much fail in that necklace! Wow. Please learn the past tense of lead is led before you put it in a necklace and send it out to thousands of people. Yikes.

I also wouldn’t want a necklace written in a passive voice.

Lisa

You’re my favorite person right now. I just had to write a work email to beg people to stop using the passive voice.

Haley

Wow – that’s so funny! Can I claim baby brain for totally not noticing the typo? That’s definitely a pretty big issue, especially if I were to gift it to anyone! =\

Yes absolutely! Baby Brain is very real. When I was pregnant I tried calling my husband’s cell from work, but dialed my own instead. As I’m waiting for him to answer I notice my own phone is ringing and look at the phone and see that work is calling me..I answered and for a second was literally on the phone with myself lol.
