Bluum Subscription Box Review & Coupon – August 2015 - BOX

Bluum is a monthly subscription box for babies and toddlers. Their boxes are super customized – specific to the month of your child’s age! The box I’m reviewing is customized from my preferences and my baby (who is due to arrive any day now!).

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Playtex Baby Ventair Bottle – 6oz, value: $4.49

Playtex Baby Nipple Variety Pack – 4 pack, value: $3.95

This bottle is designed to help reduce colic and allow for semi-upright feeding. I love that they included these two items together. The pack of different shapes/purposes of bottle nipples will be useful to see if a specific kind ends up working better for the baby.

Oh-Sew-Ready Maternity Belly Stickers for 12-40 Weeks – value: $14

To be completely honest, I’m really disappointed with the fact that they sent me this item. This box was set to arrive 1-2 weeks before my due date; what am I supposed to do with a whole pack of belly stickers? At most, I could maybe use one or two. Bluum has you fill out a short questionnaire about your child’s age (or your phase of pregnancy) and preferences. I double-checked my profile to make sure that it reflected that I’m currently 40 weeks pregnant, and it was correct. Unfortunately, the fact that they sent this makes me feel like my profile wasn’t looked at or considered.

Not to mention, I think $14 for a pack of stickers is a pretty inflated value, especially when considering that this is the most “expensive” item in the box!

(Maybe they intended to include this pack of milestone momento stickers? I don’t know. It would certainly have been much more appropriate.)

Botanical Insect Repellent & Moisturizer – 4 oz (full-size), value: $12.50

This is a really nice product! I haven’t heard of this brand before. This is a light, botanical-based, spray-able moisturizer that smells nice and uses essential oils to fend off mosquitos and is great for anyone’s use. I’m looking forward to trying this out!

Babyprints Tin in Blue – value: $12.95

I think this is a great item to include in this kind of box. It’s a little kit that has everything you need to make a keepsake hand or footprint, and doesn’t require any kind of baking or mixing!

The Verdict: Overall, this box was underwhelming. I’m excited about the lotion and keepsake kit, the bottle and nipples will probably be handy, and I just don’t even understand why they sent me belly stickers (or why they’re valued as the most expensive item). This box has a value of about $47.89 - $14 of which is the estimated value of the stickers.

Do you subscribe to Bluum? Are you happy with the value?

Bluum was the worst subscription box I’ve ever subscribed to and I subscribe to a lot! Their value is low, their items are not varied very much (tons of books), frequently not age appropriate to baby/child, I could go on and on. Seeing this review confirms that canceling my subscription was my best decision! Love Citrus Lane though!

I really like bluum, alot more than citrus lane which started to send sample items therefore I cancelled. You can complain about it and they will likely send you a different item, I agree that those stickers are ridiculous for someone due this month or so. My 6m old received the milestone stickers this month.

I cancelled my sub because they were sending my 2+ girl stuff either for a boy or stuff sized for a 0-3 month old. When I called customer service to voice my issue, a very rude lady said “so do you want to cancel your subscription then?”
