Alterna Caviar Clinical Daily Densifying Foam – FULL SIZE! Value $36
I love Alterna haircare products, so I was already excited for this box when I saw the spoilers. (So happy this is full-size!). I love the scent of every Alterna product I’ve tried, plus they are free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, etc. This foam/mousse is designed to give hair more volume and look fuller/denser. It is also supposed to help prevent hair fallout due to breakage. I just tried it so I can’t comment on the long term hair breakage prevention, but I really like the volume it adds. The formula isn’t sticky at all either!
Keranique Volumizing Keratin Conditioner – 1 oz Value $3.75
Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo – 1 oz Value $3.75
(Good to know for swapping – these have foil seals). This shampoo is designed to “promote micro-circulation to stimulate healthy follicles,” and the conditioner is designed to repair split ends and decrease breakage. I’ve sampled the shampoo before, and it seemed fine, but nothing special enough for me to order the full-size version
Paula’s Choice Daily Skin Clearing Treatment – FULL SIZE! Value $17
(Another foil-sealed item). This is a blemish spot treatment that leaves skin with a matte finish. Given that it’s just a spot treatment, I’m impressed with the size of the tube. I think it would last a while!
Medicell Redness Relief Hydrating Cream – FULL SIZE! Value $60
(Box sealed, with plastic insert in nozzle). This moisturizer is paraben and fragrance free, and designed to soothe and conceal redness. I tried it out and found the formula to be very gentle and lightweight. I’m guessing this will be a popular item with subscribers whether or not they have red skin concerns.
Patchology Exfoliate FlashMasque – Value $6.25
My Patchology mask collection grows! This one has lactic acid in the formula to aid with exfoliation.
SmartFX Smart Eye Wrinkle Lift – FULL SIZE! Value $30
I am really impressed with this product – I could actually tell a difference in the lines under my eyes after it was on for about 20 seconds. (This is a temporary effect, though – not permanent!) I don’t consider this much of a concealer though – it really didn’t provide any coverage. I would think of it as more of a tinted product.
And I’m guessing if you don’t need concealer under your eyes this could work on any facial wrinkles.
Glytone Step-Up Cleanse – 1 oz Value $4.70
Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash – 1 oz Value $3.60
These are both oil-free cleansers. I’ll be saving these for my travel cosmetic bag!
Verdict: I think this box is such an improvement over the July box in terms of value and product size. (The value is about $165!) I’ll use almost everything, and the Caviar Hair Foam, Medicell Hydrating Cream, and Smart Eye Wrinkle Lift are my favorite discoveries so far.
