Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - Box

Awesome Pack is a newish subscription box that’s all about family fun time! They send board games, toys, and activities to encourage quality time together. I love the concept!

They offer a Family Pack if you need items that would work for young and older kids, or a Big Kid Pack for older kids and adults. (This review is of the Family Pack).

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - extras

When I signed my family up for this subscription, Awesome Pack sent me a pretty extensive quiz about what games my family likes (and what we already have to avoid duplicates). It also asked about the ages of the children and other general interest questions. It’s pretty highly customized! I like that!

As always, they included a fun family activity booklet, but ALSO this month they included a birthday card for my husband! His birthday was in July! How thoughtful is that?

July's Awesome Pack included Fun Farm

Fun Farm Board Game – Value $24.94 on Amazon

This looks like a fun, fast-paced game for the kids to play, with or without us! Plus it got 5 stars on Amazon!

July's Awesome Pack included a Marvel Heroes Puzzle!

Marvel Heroes Spiderman Puzzle – Value $6.99 for a similar one on Amazon

My sons haven’t been into jigsaw puzzles for quite a while, but I don’t think they have ever tried a 100 piece puzzle. Plus I know Spiderman will be an added incentive to try!

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - slime-magic

Scientific Explorer Disgusting Slime Kit – Value $7.61 on Amazon

It’s not Awesome Pack’s fault, but the boys are totally over slime thanks to subscription boxes. We will gift or swap this.

Fantasma Toys Classic Magic – New 25 Illusions – Value $15.51 on Amazon

This magic kit, on the other hand, looks completely awesome! The tricks look simple and impressive. I think the boys will have a blast with this one!

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - spongebob

Mega Bloks SpongeBob Micro Series III Toy Figure Assortment – Value $6.09 each on Amazon

Hooray for blind packs! A mystery inside a mystery! I love that they sent two, one for each child. I really appreciate when they do that, it’s so much easier. These are going straight into the bribe bag.

The Verdict: We love Awesome Pack! So far it has been totally awesome! We have all actually really enjoyed trying out new board games every month together, and the games and activities have been spot on for the most part. The value this month came to about $67, which is outstanding for a $45 box. I’m really happy with this subscription so far!

What do you think of Awesome Pack?

  1. What is a bribe bag?? I realize it has nothing to do with the subscription box. However with four children it sounds like something I could incorporate into my home!!

  2. This is a uniques service and I love the idea of it. I only wish they did an adult package (pets maybe too). There are no kids in our house, but we still enjoy a good game night!

    • Hi! My husband and I get awesome pack “big kids” edition. We don’t have children and in the customer survey they give you a chance to make that kind of thing obvious. The last 2 months we have gotten a few great games, a large box of puzzles and a couple cute toys. Each month the value of the box has been around $80 so we are very impressed. After each month there’s even a follow up survey to get your updated game collection as well as your feedback. Plus for $5/month you can get a pet addition. I highly suggest giving it a try!

      • I used to receive this with the cat and dog add-on. They always enjoyed their toys!

Anna – Your box looks great. I hope your boys enjoy everything.

        • Thanks PA Anna! It’s so fun!

    • They do have the “big kids” (adults) option and a $5 add on for pets. My husband and his friends are board game geeks so I actually got Awesome Pack for him. I get the “family pack” because I have kids, but ask that the board game be for adults. They ask very detailed questions about the types of games you like and which games you already have. So far the games we have received have been a perfect match for my husband.

My giant dog has received high quality toys with the add on.

    • Thanks Debbie and Jillian! Maybe I’ll give it a go. Are there ever discount codes for this sub?

      • Hey! If you use MSAISAWESOME, there’s a $5 discount off the first month. Also if you put a referrer name in there, each person gets something special. (mine is jillian at pietruch dot com) if you want to use it!

  3. I love Awesome Pack! We had so much fun with everything in our box this month. I really appreciate the customization and their response to feedback. They send a questionnaire each month with very detailed questions about how you felt about the items you received. I felt like in my first month some items were for kids older than mine. They really seemed to read my feedback and the items this month were on point. The value is also really impressive.

We also had a problem with USPS and Awesome Pack took care of everything.
