This month’s box (for me) focuses on delivery and post-partum recovery! I’m getting crazy excited – only about 5-6 weeks left for me! (I’m due late August).
Earth Mama Angel Baby Postpartum Bath Herbs – 3.3 oz/6 pads, value: $5.99
These bath herbs are actually packaged like 6 giant tea bags. They suggest brewing a pouch in water, pouring the brew on some pads, and freezing them. Additionally, you can brew a pouch and then add it to a hot bath. In the reviews on the site, someone recommended brewing the mixture and putting in a spray bottle, which sounds like a brilliant idea.
Healthy Mama Shake that Ache! Pain Relief – 100 caplets, value: $9.99
This pain medicine is acetaminophen – apparently aspirin and ibuprofen are generally not recommended during pregnancy. I don’t think anything makes this kind any different from regular acetaminophen, but they provided it to help with fevers, backaches, breast tenderness, mastitis pain and more.
Mommi 3-in-1 Protein Powder, Vanilla – 1.1 oz (single serving), value: $1.72
I’m a fan of adding protein powders to my smoothies to get some extra nutrition. This one doesn’t have great reviews on Amazon, but I’m definitely still going to try it myself – especially since it’s made for moms.
Bella B Body Buzz Post Pregnancy Recovery Cream – 8 oz, value: $12.99
Personally, I’m a bit of a skeptic when it comes to these types of products. In my first BumpBox, I got the stretch mark prevention cream from the same brand and have been using it, but I still ended up getting a few stretch marks so far on my belly. I’m still using the cream and plan to try this product, too, but I just don’t know how much you can actually do regarding stretch marks, cellulite, and “bouncing back” after pregnancy and how much is just genetics. I’m pretty sure just keeping your skin moisturized is about all you can do to help elasticity, so at the very least I’m glad to have this for that (plus I like the natural ingredient list).
Bamboobies Washable Nursing Pads – 1 pair, value: $7.25
I’ve heard good things about these nursing pads, and they feel really soft and well-made.
Rock These Socks Push! Maternity Socks – value: $14
What an adorable pair of socks! I’m planning on packing socks to wear in the hospital, but these have great grippy soles and say “Push!” on the top of the toes.
The Verdict: I loved this this BumpBoxes delivery! I think there were some super helpful and creative products picked for me, and I’m excited to use everything. The value adds up to $52, and I know I’ll use each product, so I’m happy.
