BarkBox Subscription Box Review & Coupon – July 2015

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

This is an exterior shot of July's BarkBox

BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. It’s one of our favorite subscription boxes – our dog loves it, and we’ve gifted it to dogs in our extended family as well!

BarkBox customizes your box to your dog’s size. For reference, this review is for the small size (our dog weighs 14 pounds)

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Here are all the items when first opening July's BarkBox

This is an information card explaining the items in the box and their value

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included. This month’s box is Circus-themed.

Please Note: I’m using the values from the info card for each item.

BarkBox includes a plush toy and a hard rubber chew toy

BarkMade Bearded Lady – Value $13

Zigoo Pets Veggout – Value $10

Our dog doesn’t like plastic toys, but he’ll go crazy for this plush. The plush is from BarkBox’s own brand, BarkMade, and ties in nicely with the circus theme!

Duck Flavored Dog treats are in the box

Lucky Dog Grain Free Roast Duck Treats – Value $9

We removed our dog off of grains/gluten years ago to fix ongoing ear infection issues (it worked!), so I’m sure he will be all over these.

Included are My Doggy Cheesy Cookies and Emerald Pet Piggy Twizzies

My Doggy Cheesy Cookies – Value $10

Emerald Pet Piggy Twizzies – Value $4

These soft-baked cookies look good enough for me to eat – our dog loves them. This chew may be a bit big for him, but I have another dog in mind – chews and toys are always easy for us to gift!

Verdict: This box has a $46 value – that’s a great value for the cost of the box! I like that BarkBox is doing themes now, which typically just related to the toys, but it still makes it fun. We’ve been getting BarkBox for over two years now, and we still like the value – and more importantly – the dog loves the items!

  1. I love the variety in this box. I may have to start subscribing soon. I think I’ve joined at least 4 geek-themed, 2 or 3 make-up, and 1 food box subscriptions since finding this site just early last week. Thanks for feeding my addition!

  2. Oh man I wish we would’ve gotten that plush toy! Our dog loves plush toys, but he got 2 of the blue toys – the other one was a bone. He doesn’t eat people food so the veg toy was a bust and he’s not too fond of the blue bone, so we cancelled. Thankfully he got a turkey chew stick that he LOVES!

  3. In the past we’ve always got the same box up until about 3 months ago…hey have been totally different! Or maybe one common treat at minimal. Hmm, it’s odd. I also feel I’ve been getting it a few days earlier than normal as well….lol well take it :p

  4. I got the same box for my dachshund baby, Oliver, with the exception of the veg out treat holder. We got a crinkly popcorn soft toy. My dog loves this box so much that he gets excited for every box that I get in the mail! I love that the treats are premium and made in the USA because that’s all I will give my dog. I don’t trust food/treats from China.

  5. We got the same box! I love Barkbox and so do my pups. This month was definitely a hit. I’ve had some issues recently with their customer service that worries me a little, but hopefully they will that straightened out because I love this box!
