Instead of getting a traditional information card, you get a full-color foldout brochure with details about the artisans who produced the items in the box, including photos and web addresses.

This month’s theme is “Rejuvenation” and the box includes items for rejuvenating every area of your life: home or office, beauty products, and some sweet treats.

Your Secret Admirer Subscription Box Review - June 2015 Inside

There was a lot of packing material in this box.  A lot.  I took out at least half of it to get this picture!

Here’s a better view of everything.

yoursecretadmirer-june-2015-headband

Pieces to Peaces Rockabilly Headband – Value $11.99

Uplift Vitamin D + E Energizing Face Mist – Value $18

I’m not sure I can pull off wearing this headband in public but it will definitely be useful around the house and/or keeping my hair out of my face when I do face masks.  (Those are little bits of the packing material adhering to it.)

This face mist has a subtle citrus scent and it’s moisturizing and refreshing.  I couldn’t find it for sale online so I’m going with the value listed on the price card.

yoursecretadmirer-june-2015-tea

B. Fuller’s Mortal and Pestle Loving Cup Herbal Tisane (3 oz.) – Value $12

Heart Tea Infuser – Value $5

This tea has all kinds of ingredients that I love: cacao nib, orange peel, damiana, holy basil, milky oat seed, and vanilla bean.  The holy basil (also sometimes called tulsi) is the strongest flavor but everything blends together really well.  I’d recommend steeping this for a long time.

I love that they included an infuser to go with the loose leaf tea.  The price list put this at $8.  Since there was no brand name, I linked to something similar I found on Amazon, with a little bit lower price.

QUIN Lollipops (3 count) – Value $3

Herbivore Botanicals Blood Orange Lip Butter – Value $12

These lollipops are cut by hand and I like them a lot.  They’re a little big to fit all the way in my mouth, though.  I am thinking I got one each of tangerine, lemon, and strawberry or cherry.

I like blood orange anything so I’m happy with this lip butter.  It’s colorless, so no swatches.  The information card lists it at $16 but I found it on the Herbivore Botanicals site for $12 so that’s the value I’m using.

Himalayan Sea Salt Tealight Candle Holder – Value $10

100% Pure Beeswax Aromatherapy Tealight – Value $1

Air Plant – Value $3.67

I have a couple of larger Himalayan sea salt candle holders and I love them.  Because they’re natural objects and no two are exactly alike, this smaller one will go great with the others.  The candle is inside the candle holder so it doesn’t show up very well in this picture.  There weren’t any brand names or web links for the candle and holder so I’m using values from the information card.

I love air plants but I have trouble keeping them alive.  I have killed two in my office already this year.  So I am keeping this one at home in the hopes of having better luck with it there.

The box included a list of items with a price list, air plant care instructions, and an envelope that said “we encourage you to pass this card along with this envelope to brighten someone else’s day.”

yoursecretadmirer-june-2015-envelope

Notecard + Envelope – Value $5

And the inside of the envelope included a notecard and a card with a coupon code for a long-term subscription.  I didn’t realize at first that the card was considered part of the value of the box, but there’s a line item on the price list so I’ve included it above.  (This item is exclusive to Your Secret Admirer so I had to use the price they gave.)

Verdict: I had to rely a lot on the values provided on the price list card because so many of these items aren’t branded.  I calculated a value of about $82.  I think that’s a great deal for a box that costs $45 (including shipping).  A lot of the value will depend on whether or not you like the items included.  However, since many of these items come from small-scale, independent manufacturers, and since some of them aren’t easy to find online, I have to add some value in for curation.  I have definitely discovered some new companies that I never would have found otherwise.  Personally, I’m very happy with the box contents – this stuff is right up my alley.  I think a box like this would make a good gift, as well.

I’m not sure I’m seeing the theme of Rejuvenation here, but I do like the collection of products and the curation and I especially like that they included items like the candle and tea infuser to go with the candle holder and tea.

What do you think of the June 2015 Your Secret Admirer box?

It came through the mail in really good shape, too. I hope I don’t kill it, though. (I am usually good with plants. But my track record with air plants is not so good…)
