Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – June 2015 Box

The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box.  All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural, too).  They also typically include a nice mix of full size and sample beauty items.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – June 2015 Contents

Vegan Cuts sends a single package to subscribers who get both the beauty and snack boxes.  The beauty items are separated into a little bag.  (If you do not get the snack box, I don’t think you get the little bag.)

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: Vegan Cuts Beauty Box

The Cost: $19.95

The Products: Each box contains a mix of 4-7 full and sample size cruelty-free beauty must-haves, ranging from unique cosmetics to luxurious skincare.  All items are void of icky, toxic ingredients and animal byproducts, so you can feel beautiful inside and out.

Ships to: US for free, Canada for $8, and worldwide for $15.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – June 2015 Card

Each Vegan Cuts Beauty Box comes with an information card detailing the items for that month.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – June 2015 Cleanser

Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash (0.7 oz) – Value $1.54

Ecolips Bee Free Lip Balm in Lemon Lime (full size!) – Value $3.49

I’ve been using this cleanser for a few days.  It seems gentle and it’s really good at getting rid of makeup and oils.

I have a *lot* of lip balms.  But the ingredients in this one are good (it’s fair trade certified, gluten free, and cruelty free, too) and I like the way it smells.  It’ll get used eventually.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – June 2015 Emani

Emani Eye Trio in Coco/Black (full size!) – Value $20

This product can be used as a liner or brow filler (or eye shadow).  The colors are pretty dark (although they will probably work for me – I have dark eyebrows) and I will have to practice using this at home first.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – June 2015 Soap

Bee All Natural Coconut Oil Soap (0.63 oz) – Value $0.94

This is listed as a sample on the Bee All Natural site so I weighed it on my kitchen scale to get the size.  It’s made of only one ingredient – saponified coconut oil – which I think is interesting.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – June 2015 Toothpast

Hello Fluoride Toothpaste in Pink Grapefruit Mint (0.75 oz) – Value $0.63

Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant in Bergamot + Lime (0.5 oz) – Value $2.25

All right, so these two items weren’t great for me.  I love the *idea* of toothpaste in non-standard flavors but this toothpaste contains sodium lauryl sulfate, which gives me canker sores in toothpaste form.  And I have tried this same deodorant before, in the same scent, and it gave me a rash.  However, these were small compared to the overall box value.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – June 2015 Swatches

Here are the Emani Eye Trio colors swatched.  They had pretty good staying power; I had to scrub with soap to get them off my arm.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $29 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box.   That’s above the cost of the box but below what I’ve come to expect for beauty boxes.  I think it’s a little risky for them to have put so much of the value in a single item.  I’ve come to expect some swings in value for this subscription and I’ll use most of the items, so I’m reasonably happy.

What do you think of the June 2015 Vegan Cuts Beauty Box?

I loved everything in the box, but was sad I didn’t get the schmidt’s deodorant. I was looking forward to it!

i have a backlog of products so I cut a few boxes and this is one of them. BUT I do check their spoiler video to see if I can’t resist a product and I have grabbed a box now and then. I still love vegan cuts but this box wouldn’t have been for me.

I can’t use the eyebrow palette either; too dark for me. Besides, I don’t usually use eyebrow powder (or anything else) and the colors are too dark for eyeshadow. I tried the toothpaste last night and really liked it — enough that I went to the website to get a full-sized tube (which you actually get at Target!) so I could save the small one for travelling. I also got a different flavor of the lip balm. I like the Vegan Cuts box generally, and if one month the value doesn’t quite make it, that’s okay because other months it exceeds it, so it all works out fine in the end — and I get to try new brands (like the toothpaste).

I agree, this box is more valuable if you’re signed up for a few months. One month might be a miss but the next one makes up for it.

i got the same except a superfruit lip balm instead of the lemon.. i wish the eye trio had a lighter shade, because in an eye trio honestly that is the main shade that i use. if it was black + brown + beige i would probably keep it, but as is i will be swapping it.. shame since that is most of the value of my box, but hopefully i can get something good for it in a swap and i am going to try the box next month to see if it is a better fit. To me this eye palette is only really appealing to people who use a ton of dark shadow or have dark brows and I’m really fair so I don’t….

I’ll have to email them if my box doesn’t show up tomorrow. It was supposed to show up yesterday. The tracking has not updated so who knows where it is. It’s an interesting mix of products, but almost none interest me.

I think I am better off buying their theme boxes. I usually enjoy those. I loved the Mother’s Day box especially the Hylunia products.

No box today 🙁 I sent them an email about it. I am totally fine if they decided to add a month to my sub. I did buy the facial care box when I saw that it had the Hylunia products. They are expensive so I welcome another opportunity to use them. I do love Vegan Cuts specialty boxes. I haven’t had much luck with the sub box. Last month my eye cream was one of the ones that had the cap askewed with dried up product on the outside. This month box is possibly missing or taking a long time to deliver.

My box showed up. I appreciate that they included a replacement eye cream. I’ll be trying it later this week. I shared the box with my sister which worked out perfectly.

My lip balm is a bit different then yours, the rest of the items are the same. I have not tried the eye trio, thank you for trying it. To dark for me. I agree with you 100% that it is risky to put so much value in one item. I wished the tooth paste, soap or face wash was a bit bigger. Vegan cuts has a nice mix of items, I still wish though that the makeup / nail polish items could be customized even just a little.

In case you were wondering, I wrote this one. It’s just showing up with Liz’s name right now. I really do have dark eyebrows and I dye my hair black, so the eye trio colors will work for me…

Ragan- in your info it says something about boxes for your cats… What boxes are there for cats? Any you would recommend? I have some new kittens so might be interested in a box or two for them.

Oops – I’ll fix that!
