Prospurly Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Info

The box comes with a card detailing all the items included with retail values. The theme this month is “A Seaside Excursion.”

Prospurly Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Candle

The Blue Octopus Beach Fire Candle – Value $8

This candle doesn’t smell like a beach fire to me (but then again I’ve yet to find a “fire” scented candle that it what I’m hoping for). It’s a clean, sweet scent though – I like it!

Meraki Botanicals Bergamot Neroli Body Scrub – Value $20

This scrub is made with organic ingredients, and it has a nice, natural scent (not too citrusy though, despite the ingredients).

Prospurly Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Soap

Oak Street Soap Plumeria Bubble Bar – Value $5.50

I could smell this soap before I even opened the box – it is STRONGLY scented. I’ll probably pass this one along to a friend since the fragrance is just a little too heavy for me.

Salt Works Wild Fire Salt Blend – Value $10

This salt blend is a mix of salt with garlic and rosemary, all smoked over Pecan wood. It almost smells like BBQ to me!

Prospurly Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Salt

Being Apothecary Still Salt Bath – Value $18

This might be my favorite discovery in the box. I love the packaging, and the ingredients – Himalayan Sea salt, Dead Sea salt, and essential oils of Ylang Ylang and Geranium. (Now I want to try their other bath salt blends).

Seagrape Bath and Body Salt Kissed Hair Mist – Value $15

This hair mist is scented with lavender – so I bet you could use it as a room spray if you aren’t looking for a sea salt spray!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $76.50. I’ll use everything besides the soap, so I’m happy with that value. I also think that Prospurly does a great job of discovering new-to-me beauty and spa brands. This box is a little beauty heavy, so I hope to see a little more of a mix in categories for the next box.

What do you think of the June Prospurly box?

  1. I’m not sure if anyone else noticed, but the soap is interesting because it crumbles up easily and does not last long. Before they used to have a skip a box month option. I’m not noticing that now.

  2. I like this box because of the curation. It is a little more expensive but they are seeking out small business brands and I think it is harder to make a profit off that then Popsugar who does so many collaborations. Plus they get a big kudos from me for 3 day shipping!!

  3. Here is a tip for bar soaps you feel are a bit TOO scented to use: Stick them in your dresser drawers (with undergarments, PJ’s, socks, whatever). It subtly fragrances your clothes! My mom told me about this, it’s what her grandmother did and I’ve done it for years. Just a thought. ^_^

  4. Well these boxes don’t ship for free even if they do say free shipping. I’m sure that cost is factored in there too. I had to ship a 3 lb box to my cousin in California and it cost me over $10 to ship priority. I think its a good deal but I guess people are used to POPSUGAR values.

  5. I agree with those saying this seems like it should be about $10 less. This box has been on my radar for a bit, but it’s hard to justify the price when I like just a few of the items each month.

  6. I like some of the items, not sure if I want to continue subbing or not. In my opinion the box was priced to high to start with. They should have stuck with what yogi surprise did by offering a 20% founder coupon instead of 10%. I wish this summer box was more creative. Felt like summer to me, yet it seems that there could have been more done with the box, to make it feel more summer/beach like. Whether I decide to keep the sub or not will depend on the spoiler.

  7. I’ve been enjoying this subscription think each month is well curated and thought out. People looking for a new and good value box should give it a try

  8. Like Sara, I thought I canceled in time. I do love the box, but it doesn’t fit in the budget right now. I wish it was $10.00 less.

I love the items in the box. I already tired out the bath salts and bits of the bubble bar. My candle scent is Mermaid’s Kiss which is deadly to sailors, but not to me 🙂 It is a vanilla orchid coconut milk scent.

    • I bet that candle smells amazing! I agree, if it were $10 less it’d be a fantastic box. But for $45 a month and I keep one or two items it’s not worth it right now for me. I just canceled a bunch of boxes and this was one that unfortunately got axed too.

    • I got Mermaid’s Kiss too! I absolutely love the scent and wish the candle were larger. I may just have to go buy enough of this size to fill my apartment! 😀

This month’s box is a bit more beauty heavy than usual but the products are all new to me and perfect for summer. Prospurly hasn’t had a miss for me yet and have definitely become one of my favorite subs!

  9. I like how on their website it now says average $80 value, used to promise an $80 value. I liked this box, I canceled it this month, but still got the June box. I like it alright, just can’t really afford it right now and I usually swap most of the box. The beach fire candle didn’t smell like fire at all to me. I love Woodwick’s Fireside candle, I think it has that burning wood kind of scent. The scrub I thought smelled awfully strong of something I don’t know what though. I didn’t like the scent at all, couldn’t smell any citrus. Plus just received the bath salts in a Boxycharm box a couple months ago I think, but not in a glass jar. I do like how all the jars were glass this month. I want to love this box, I just wish it contained more “home items” or something less beauty products.

    • I was JUST about to comment to Liz that if she’s seeking a fireplace type scented candle, I love my Woodwick Fireside candle!

  10. The hair mist that they included is actually a half-sized bottle, and is only worth $7.50, not $15.
