Nicely Noted Subscription Review – June 2015 Birthday

Birthday Brushies by Hammerpress in Kansas City, Missouri – Value $4.50

I love getting Birthday cards from subscriptions – I always use them, plus I love the colors of this one!

Nicely Noted Subscription Review – June 2015 Dots

Connecting Dots by Pepper Press in Brooklyn, New York – Value $5.50

This card is blank inside, and it’s a great any-occasion type of card.

Nicely Noted Subscription Review – June 2015 Boat

Boat by Iron Curtain Press in Los Angeles, California – Value $5

I love all things Nautical, and I kind of want to frame this card! The background on the Harbor card collection is interesting too:

THE HARBOR COLLECTION FEATURES VINTAGE CUTS FROM THE 1940S. THE BLOCKS WERE FOUND WITH THE MARKINGS “H C HANSON” ON THE BOTTOM – A LITTLE RESEARCH TURNED UP HAROLD CORNELIUS HANSON, ONE OF THE MOST PROLIFIC BOAT DESIGNERS IN THE NORTHWEST WITH OVER 2000 DESIGNS IN HIS 57 YEAR CAREER. AS FAR AS WE CAN TELL, MANY OF THESE BOATS ARE TUNA SEINERS.

Nicely Noted Subscription Review – June 2015 Stamps

Stamps – Value $1.50

Each Nicely Noted package also comes with stamps to mail your letters.

Verdict: My verdict on this subscription is almost always the same = if you love letterpress cards, I think you will be very happy with the quality of cards Nicely Noted curates. It’s not the best retail-value card subscription, but if you are looking for unique cards from letterpress makers across the country, I think it is great.

What do you think of the June Nicely Noted mailing?

  1. June is my first box. I would have to say that after looking at previous reviews this set wouldn’t be a favorite: however, the cards are nice and I will get use out if them. The stamps are a nice touch. Even if I don’t use them with these cards I will use them and since they are forever stamps they will always be the current value of a stamp.
Out of the cards I like the blue dot one the best. The embossment on the card is reminiscent of constellations. I can think if many uses for this card but I will probably send it to a far away relative to let them know that I am thinking of them and miss them. Think – even though we are far away we can look up at the same stars – now “Somewhere Out There…” is playing in my head.
The birthday card is my least favorite. I think the palette and design feel a little blah.
I just signed up for this and CardNest and currently I like the CardNest cards a lot more but I will five Nicely Noted a few more tries since from previous reviews I think they have some great designs.

  2. I think these are all really beautiful. I’m not crazy about their selections every month, so at this price this sub would too high risk for me, but I love seeing the reviews on MSA!

    • Agreed. If it were just $5 less, I’d probably get it, but $20 is just a little too much. But I love that they send beautiful stamps along with the cards!
