Each box comes with a brochure detailing the theme and the items selected for the month. This month’s theme is “Saturday in the Park.”
The brochure provides a quick description of the items included in the box and clearly outlines which items are gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO, etc. I like that they display this information so prominently.
Crazy Hot Popchips (.8 oz)- $1.42
I’m a fan of Pop Chips, but I haven’t seen this flavor in stores (yet). They’re very spicy, which is a good thing in my book. I’ll definitely pick up more if I see them at the grocery.
Salted Caramel Brownie Brittle (1 oz.)- $1
Brownie Brittle is a delicious take on the classic treat. It’s thin, crispy, and relatively low in calories. I really like Brownie Brittle, and I think the salted caramel flavor is yummy.
Northwest Trail Mix by Emily's (.85 oz)- $.85
Emily’s Trail Mix is made with cashews, almonds, raisins, cranberries, and pieces of cinnamon apple. I think this trail mix is okay, but I’ve had better.
Kutoa Peanut Butter & Jelly Bar (1.7 oz)- $2.08
According to the information in the brochure, I should have received a Chocolate Maca Bar by Amrita Health. This bar is great, though, so I won’t complain! It’s vegan, dairy free, non-GMO verified, and is free from soy, preservatives, and added sugar. There aren’t any layers of actual peanut butter or jelly, but the addition of peanuts and cherries is a nice nod to the PB&J.
Original Naan Crisps by Stonefire Authentic Flatbreads (.5 oz)- $1?
I’m amazed how many variations on the classic chip are available these days. Sometimes I think I’ve seen it all (bean chips, falafel chips, veggie chips, pasta chips…), but there always seems to be something new right around the corner! I love Indian food, so I really like the concept of these Naan Crisps. They’re crispy and salty, and I think they’d be great dipped in some curried chicken salad!
Everything Bar by Sheffa (.64 oz)- $1.39
Sheffa Savory Bars are difficult to describe. They’re crumbly, savory, and taste a little like a block of crunched up crackers. I tend to prefer salty snacks to sweet ones, and I thought this was a really tasty, albeit unusual, snack. Savory bars come in a number of different flavors, and this “Everything” bar contains sesame seeds, poppy seeds, toasted onion, and roasted garlic (the classic toppings on an everything bagel).
Choo Choo Cherry Flavored Dried Cranberries by Funny Face (.75 oz)- $.83
Dried fruit is one of my favorite snacks, and I like these cherry flavored cranberries. I also like the packaging—it reminds me of the little boxes of raisins my mom used to send in my lunchbox. (Prices aren’t listed on the Funny Face website, so I used the Love with Food shop to help determine a value.)
Classic Iced Tea Candy by Bali's Best (3 candies)- $.30
I don’t think I’ve ever seen tea flavored candy before, so I’m excited to see it included in this month’s box. The flavor is great- it tastes just like sweet tea!
As always, Love with Food includes coupons to accompany the products in the box.
Verdict: I really enjoyed this month’s Love with Food tasting box. The Brownie Brittle, Everything Bar, and Iced Tea Candy were all standouts, in my opinion. Love with Food recently lowered prices on all of their boxes (which is always fantastic news!), and the Tasting Box is now $9.99 per month or $7.99 per month with an annual subscription. The value this month comes in around $9, which is great for Love with Food. The combination of high value, tasty products, and charitable giving makes this box a home run for me!
