Love with Food is a monthly snack and food sampling subscription box. They only send natural and organic food and snacks, and for every box shipped they donate a meal to charity.
MSA regularly reviews the Love with Food Tasting Box. This is a review of the larger Love with Food Gluten Free Box.
Since there is some item overlap between boxes, I’ve clearly marked in the review which items I also received in my June Love with Food Tasting Box. Hopefully, this will be helpful for anyone interested in comparing the two boxes.
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Each box comes with a brochure detailing the theme and the items selected for the month. This month’s theme is “Saturday in the Park.”
The brochure provides a quick description of the items included in the box and clearly outlines which items are vegan, non-GMO, etc. I like that they display this information so prominently. Since this is the gluten-free box, all of the items are marked as gluten-free. (Note that Love with Food has included a message on the brochure to let subscribers know that some of the items included in the box do carry a shared facility warning. Love with Food has spoken directly to these manufacturers about their production practices to ensure they can safely recommend these products.)
Crazy Hot Popchips (Two .8 oz packets)- $2.84
I’m a fan of Pop Chips, but I haven’t seen this flavor in stores (yet). They’re very spicy, which is a good thing in my book. I’ll definitely pick up more if I see them at the grocery.
(This item was also featured in my June Love with Food Tasting Box.)
Paleo Hazelnut Cake & Muffin Mix by Paleo Baking Company (8.2 oz)- $9
Love with Food Gluten Free boxes often include at least one non-snack product, and I like that they often include baking mixes (I recently received a GF Bob’s Red Mill Pie Crust Mix). There are recipe variations on the Paleo Baking Company website, and they recommend using the mix to make Lemon Poppyseed Muffins, Blueberry Muffins, or Chocolate Hazelnut Cake. I haven’t had a chance to try this mix yet, but I’m looking forward to trying it.
Buddha Bowl Himalayan Pink Popcorn by Lesser Evil (.88 oz)- $1.25?
I’ve tried Buddha Bowl Popcorn before, and I really like it. (Though, I think I might like the packaging even more than the product itself!) I couldn’t find this size for sale anywhere online, so I’ve estimated the value.
Fudge Indulgence Cookie by Alternative Baking Company (2.25 oz)- $2.70
This cookie is soft and fudgy, and it has a great chocolaty flavor. Unfortunately, it also has a chalky texture that I often associate with gluten free baked goods. It’s still a good cookie, but I wouldn’t buy more.
Original Shoestring Potatoes by Pik Nik (1.75 oz)- $.85
I’m so excited to see shoestring potatoes in this box! I think they’re perfect for the picnic theme, and I don’t think I’ve had them since I was little. They’re crunchy, salty, and just as yummy as I remember.
Chewy Banana Bites by Barnana (3.5 oz)- $3.99
I try to always keep an open mind when it comes to trying new snacks, and this product tested that resolve. At first glance, these chewy banana bites look like small pieces of seriously overripe banana (they’re that very particular shade of overripe banana brown). As someone who usually prefers bananas on the green side, I wasn’t sure I’d like them. Luckily, despite their odd appearance, they’re really tasty! They have a lovely, fresh banana flavor and a texture that reminds me of soft and chewy marshmallow gummies.
Sea Salt Quinoa Chips by Simply 7 (.8 oz)- $.73
I’ve had Simply 7 products before, and I’m a fan. I appreciate their company ethos, too. (They’re committed to crafting products without artificial ingredients, trans fat, preservatives, and gluten.) I like the subtle nuttiness of the quinoa chips, and I think the sea salt flavor is a great alternative to traditional potato chips.
Everything Bar by Sheffa (.64 oz)- $1.39
Sheffa Savory Bars are difficult to describe. They’re crumbly, savory, and taste a little like a block of crunched up crackers. I tend to prefer salty snacks to sweet ones, and I thought this was a really tasty, albeit unusual, snack. Savory bars come in a number of different flavors, and this “Everything” bar contains sesame seeds, poppy seeds, toasted onion, and roasted garlic (the classic toppings on an everything bagel).
(This item was also featured in my June Love with Food Tasting Box.)
Kutoa Chocolate Banana Bar (1.7 oz)- $2.08
According to the information in the brochure, I should have received a Chocolate Maca Bar by Amrita Health, but I don’t mind that they had to swap it out for a different product. This bar is vegan, dairy free, non-GMO verified, and is free from soy, preservatives, and added sugar. I received a Kutoa Peanut Butter & Jelly Bar in my Tasting Box, and I really enjoyed it. I like this one a lot, too.
Honey Grahams by Schar (.9 oz)- $.77
Shar Honey Grahams are a gluten free take an graham crackers, and the Shar website recommends using them to make gluten free s’mores. I think this is a perfect item for a summertime box!
As always, Love with Food included a handful of coupons and promo cards. This month, they’ve included a coupon for a FREE box of Ruby Rocket’s Veggie and Fruit Pops!
Verdict: I think this was a great Love with Food Gluten-Free box. Several of the treats this month felt very summery to me, and I love that they included a coupon for popsicles. I also appreciate the variety of gluten-free items Love with Food selected for this box, and I liked most of the snacks I received. In terms of value, the total of the items adds up to just over $25 (not including the coupons). Love with Food recently lowered their prices, and the Love with Food Gluten Free Box is now 24.99 per month (month to month) or 19.99 per month (with an annual subscription). I think it’s great that they’ve lowered their prices, and, with the lower cost, the value is now great. Of course, they still donate two meals for every Gluten Free Box purchased. Great snacks + solid value + charitable giving= a great box!
