Ipsy Review – June 2015
Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Each month you get full size or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag. I think it’s one of the best value beauty subscriptions and a great way to build out your makeup collection on the cheap!
(FYI – Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month – so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!)
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
The Subscription Box: Ipsy
The Cost: $10 a month (free shipping)
The Products: Full size and samples of makeup and beauty products. (Plus a makeup bag!)
Ships to: US and Canada

dr. brandt pores no more blackhead extractor mask – .25 oz Value $11.25
This mask is free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, etc. and you only have to leave it on for 5-10 minutes! I’ve used it before and liked the results, so I’m happy to have more.
Pure Brazilian Miracle Leave-In Conditioner – 1 oz Value $6
I just tried this out on dry hair (the instructions recommend towel-dried hair), and so far I like the formula. It’s very lightweight, and the scent is pleasant.
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer – .25 oz Value $8
Thanks to subscription boxes, I never need to buy primers. This is another product I’ve tried before and really like – the formula is lightweight and the finish is smooth.
tresStique Mini Shadow Crayon in Aspen Pine – Value $10
When I first opened my bag, I thought this eyeshadow crayon was missing its cap! (The pencil-looking top is the actual cap). This is my favorite discovery in the bag. The formula is super pigmented, and it goes on so smoothly. (Swatch below). Plus it is free of parabens and synthetic fragrances!
Shea Moisture Lip Crayon in Sarah – FULL SIZE! Value $10
I’ve sampled Shea Moisture products before, but I didn’t know they had a makeup line! I like this lip crayon, and I might buy it in another shade. This Sarah color is a pretty bold fuschia with some shimmer:
Verdict: I’m really happy with my Ipsy bag this month. The items total to about $45 in retail value, and the sizes of all the products included are great. What did you get in your June Ipsy glam bag? Did anyone else get fooled by the eye crayon cap?
