Golden Tote $49 Tote Review – June 2015 Tote

Golden Tote is one of my favorite monthly packages – and I think a good deal of my wardrobe is now from Golden Tote items!

If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month you get to pick out 1-2 pieces, and they surprise you with the rest. (The surprise items are completely different from the pieces you pick from).

FYI – This is not a typical subscription, each month they release a new collection and you can decide whether or not you want to buy it. For returns it’s an all-or-nothing deal. You can return the entire tote for a refund, but you can’t return individual pieces.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

(FYI – I also paid for expedited 2-day shipping).

Golden Tote $49 Tote Review – June 2015 Romper

Casual Chic Romper – Value $35

(Fabric content: 97% rayon, 3% spandex; Care instructions: Hand wash in cold water, do not bleach, line dry, iron on low heat)

This was my pick for the $49 tote. I am not a romper person at all, but this one looked to comfortable and wearable, I had to try it!

Turns out – I love it! It looks like a just shorts and a tee when on, and it is very flattering. The crossover back with a button makes it easy to put on/take off too:

Golden Tote $49 Tote Review – June 2015 Top

Potter’s Pot Blouse – Value $40?

(100% Polyester, Dry Clean only)

I love the sporty mesh accents on this top – it’s something I would have picked out myself! My only concern is the dry clean only warning. I hope I can get away with just washing it in the gentle cycle on cold.

Verdict: Golden Tote has been such a win for June! I’m not sure if it is just from getting more specific with my style profile, but I love all my items in my $149 tote and my $49 tote.

What do you think of the $49 Tote? Did you get a $49 or $149 tote this month?

  1. I love Golden Tote! I’ve only had 2 totes so far. The last Surprise Tote was a bust but they nailed it on my first one. I’ve been looking at that romper, its so cute. I may have to pick it up in my next tote if its still available!

  2. My cousin would love the romper! I will have to tell her about it!

  3. Hi Liz,
Thank you for your wonderful reviews! Couple of GT questions for you and actually anyone else that gets Golden Tote–but this is really bothering me to not ask these of those who are experienced with the product.

I know it is a lot of value for the cost, but I am on the fence about purchasing because I noticed that it looks (and this could just be the pictures which is why I am asking) like patterned items are cut somewhat off their line, or in some cases cut/sewn crookedly into the seam (and not interestingly asymmetric, but rather like the time was not taken to cut/sew straight). Sometimes it also looks like uneven hanging hems because of the off grain cut so one side is lower than the other, or the elastic casing waist is climbing up higher on one side.

Am I totally wrong and this is an incorrrect impression from the pics online?

Or in your opinion(s), is this the case, but something that isn’t so bad when on the body vs the dress form that can be safely ignored? I don’t expect the best of flawless quality because the cost is so inexpensive for the # of items but I definitely don’t want wonky waist casings that climb up one side that always needs to be tugged down, good pricing or not.

Lastly, I see a lot of the items are Rayon, which is totally fine, but do any of you find the items shrink in the wash?

I appreciate anyone answering because this is making me concerned about ordering and I love the styles…thank you!!!!!!!!

    • I find that the clothes are always good quality and when worn the inconsistencies on the form are made up for. I always get compliments when I wear clothes from Golden Tote and always get asked wear I shop! Also, if you get something you don’t love they have a fabulous trading group on Facebook, the ladies there are THE BEST EVER and always so kind and helpful with questions about fit/sizing!
Unless you’re super picky about patterns lining up and what-not I think you’ll be happy, they may be a little off, but nothing that noticeable. In any case you can always request “just solids” in your style profile. 🙂

      • Thank you! I’ll probably be forced to take the plunge..,

  4. I got the 149 tote and my chosen items were rompers in two colors! I love them! What could be better then when your shirt and shorts are connected, super cute and go on with one button. I think I want every color….

  5. Now I REALLY want a romper!

  6. LOVE!!!

  7. How do you get yours so quickly? I didn’t even get notice mine shipped yet and I ordered on day of.

    • I paid an extra $20 total for my $149 tote and $49 tote (placed on the same order) to be shipped with 2-day delivery.

    • I ordered the day it opened and mine are coming tomorrow (without paying for quicker shipping). It seems like they ship in waves maybe?
