The collection this month is titled “Hyde Park” – since I’m a bit of an Anglophile, I was instantly excited about the theme. Here are the crafts included for this month’s projects: Hawthorn Bracelet, Kensington Waxed Wraps, English Rose Face Scrub, and Tilly Lariat Necklace.
The back of the card lists the items from the box you need for each project.
Here are all of the included raw materials for this month’s crafts.
English Rose Face Scrub
I love this as a product, but it wasn’t much of a project/craft. All that was involved was putting the label on the jar and pouring in the salt mix and oils. Personally, there wasn’t enough moisture for my taste with just what For the Makers included, so I added some coconut oil. They suggested using coconut or olive oil, but I thought coconut would smell so much better!
Hawthorn Bracelet
I love this bracelet! It was fun to make but not crazy complicated, and the colors are beautiful together.
Tilly Lariat Necklace
This is definitely a trendy style for necklaces recently, and it was really fun to make my own. I don’t often wear gold and I’m not completely sure how to style it yet, but the simple design of this necklace is just my taste so I’m looking forward to giving it a try!
Kensington Waxed Wraps (not pictured)
I forgot to take an up-close photo of the waxed wraps because they were already put to use in my kitchen! The project was simple – basically, you just melt wax onto and through the fabric completely with an iron, creating an eco-friendly wrap to either cover dishes or wrap snacks/vegetables in. I’m giving them a try and I think they’re an interesting concept, but I’m not in love.
Verdict: I really liked this month’s For the Makers collection! I love the English inspiration and the projects are all things I’m excited about having/wearing/using, which is always my favorite way for a craft box to turn out. The actual crafts were pretty simple and easy this month but I personally definitely prefer a simple, quick project that results in something I’m excited about than any daunting, overly complicated project.
