Birchbox Limited Edition Under The Sun Box Review + Coupon
The Under the Sun Box is the latest Limited Edition Box from Birchbox, and just like every other limited edition box they’ve released, I had to buy it immediately!
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
One tiny pet peeve I wanted to mention – this box is so pretty I wanted to reuse it, but they used tape to keep the lid shut in shipping, so I had to damage the print of the box to open it.
The Cost: $55

Baggu Bag – Value $9
This bag comes in two variations for the box – elephant print or blue and white stripe. I love Baggu bags (they might be my favorite reusable tote), and this print is adorable. Here is the bag opened up:
Sugarpova Flirty Gummies – Value $5
I can’t resist gummies, and these ones are gluten and dairy free, so I finished this bag rather quickly! (They do contain beef gelatin though – so just a heads up for vegans/vegetarians).
Knockaround Sunglasses – Value $14.60
These glasses are made with a frosted grey plastic and red reflective lenses – I don’t have anything like them in my sunglasses collection, and I like that they came with a case too. (They’re also really lightweight).
Supergoop Skin Soothing Mineral Sunscreen with Olive Polyphenols SPF 40 (Travel Size) Value $11.60
I like Supergoop’s suncare line (their CC Cream is one of my favorites), and this specific SPF is new to me. This formula is designed to be extra gentle for sensitive skin. I just tried it out in my hand, and I found the formula to be very lightweight and it absorbed quickly. I think I should be able to get 2 full uses out of this 1 oz tube too.
This nail polish is a perfect fit for the box just from the name alone! It’s a pretty basic pink, but I tend to reach for pale pinks more than any other shade when I paint my nails, so I’m ok with that.
Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Cameo – Value $24
(This is the other colors-may-vary item in the box. I believe the other shade you could receive is Hot Chocolate). I totally forgot to swatch this shade when taking pictures, but using it now, I’m not even sure a swatch would have showed up on my skin in the photo. The cameo shade is a matte shade and the color is very close to my skin tone (it looks darker in the pan). I think it will be great to use as a base shade, and I appreciate that the formula is paraben and fragrance-free. I’ve only tried it so far as a dry powder, but it designed to be used with a wet application too.
I love the packaging of this necklace! It’s hypoallergenic, nickel-free, and lead-safe, and it can be worn 3 different ways. (As shown here with both layered strands, or you can wear either chain individually). I wasn’t sure if this piece would be for my when I saw the preview of this box, but I really like it!
Here are the two shades swatched:
I was worried when I first saw how bold the pink blush is, but both shades blend really easily and wipe away easily too. No need to worry about getting permanent clown face for the day if you overdo it!
Verdict: I’m really happy with this box – I’ll use everything included. I think my favorite items are the non-makeup ones though – I really like the necklace, the sunglasses and the Baggu!
