ARTISTRY GIFTS APRIL 2015 - box

Artistry Gifts just launched a monthly theme box! Up until recently, they only offered a gift wrap subscription. Their monthly theme box features lifestyle items such as candles, jewelry, snacks, stationery, spa items, home items, and occasional holiday items. They still offer their monthly gift wrap box, but also offer a combo box of the monthly gift wrap and lifestyle box

This is a review of their monthly theme box.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

ARTISTRY GIFTS APRIL 2015 - all items

The Subscription: Artistry Gifts

The Cost:  $49.99/month for the monthly theme box.

The Products: 4-6 giftable lifestyle items such as candles, jewelry, snacks, stationery, spa items, home items, and occasional holiday items – valuing $60+ each month

Ships to: US

ARTISTRY GIFTS APRIL 2015 - packaging

I love it when subscription boxes come with each item individually wrapped; it feels like a box of presents.

ARTISTRY GIFTS APRIL 2015 - info

Each box comes with an info sheet that lists each item featured in the box. April’s theme is “Out Shopping.”

ARTISTRY GIFTS APRIL 2015 - items 1

Swanky Sweetpea Retro Salt Shakes in Sweet Strawberry – 16 oz, value: $11

This is definitely adorable packaging for bath salts! It’s nothing fancy, but it’s cute and still ready to gift. Their website says that these bath salts are made with natural ingredients and fragrance oils, which is really important to me when it comes to bath products. Plus, these smell great! The only thing is that I don’t see how bath salts fit in the “Out Shopping” theme – but maybe it’s meant to fit because of the milkshake-like packaging?

ARTISTRY GIFTS APRIL 2015 - items 2

Silver-Tone Butterfly and Flowers Purse Holder – value: $25

This is a really pretty purse holder! It seems like it would be handy at a restaurant or something, but the purses I like are generally too long to work with it. I also wish this weren’t the most expensive item in the box. See the photo below for a close up of the design!

Lily McGee 3 Notepad Set with Pen – value: $12

This is a pretty cute set of list notepads. I already have so many notepads around my house, but this set will make a nice gift for someone – I definitely think that Artistry Gifts holds up to their goal of providing “gift-ready” items!

Here’s a close up of the purse holder design.

ARTISTRY GIFTS APRIL 2015 - items 4

Inis Moonlight Eau de Parfum sample – 2 ml

March’s Artistry Gifts box had Inis body wash and a lotion sample in it, and I know that this fragrance just isn’t for me. Fortunately, the box already has 6 items in it without the perfume, so I can just count it as a bonus.

Abdallah Chocolates Downtowner Assorted Chocolates Sampler – 1.5 oz/4 pieces, value: $3

Chocolates are always a welcome inclusion in subscription boxes for me! I’ve only tried two so far – a cherry cordial and a chocolate with peanuts in it – and both were very good!

ARTISTRY GIFTS APRIL 2015 - items 5

Roger la Borde Chic Fold-Out Bag – value: $8

I’m having a hard time finding these bags available to purchase online, even on the Roger la Borde website. I really love the design of this bag! I’d definitely say it’s comparable to the Baggu bags. However, what I like less about this one is that the little bag it folds up into is attached to the inside of the bag when it folds out. It’s a small inconvenience, but it does mean you have one very specific way you have to fold it up to get it small again, whereas Baggu bags have a small, separate pouch they just slide into.

ARTISTRY GIFTS APRIL 2015 - items 6

Lily McGee Midnight Rose Credit Card Case – value: $7

(I just want to mention that the info card lists this card case at $7, but I can only find it for sale for online $12.99.)

This is a really cute case! I love the hard exterior and the floral pattern! I’ve been looking for a small card case like this recently, so I was thrilled to see this in the box.

The Verdict: Overall, I really liked Artistry Gifts’ April monthly theme box. I feel like they delivered on their goal of offering usable and giftable items, and the value comes out to $66, which I’m happy with.

What do you think about the lifestyle theme box from Artistry Gifts?

There is nothing artistry about this box imo.

The comments about the stuff being made in China had me curious so I did some research. Here’s what I found out. 1928 jewelry, Swanky Sweet Pea, and Abdallah Chocolates are all made in the USA. The Inis perfume is made in Ireland. The Roger LA Borde bag was designed in England but manufactured in China. And I couldn’t find out where Lily McGee stationery is made. I’m thinking Lily McGee is an actual person though. Maybe someone else knows?

If the box was not called “Artistry” I would look at the items in the box in more neutral way. – When I think of Artistry I think of: hand made soaps, hand made jelly’s, prints by artists, something like the rifel coaster set, etsy jewelry, any of the items in the Gloebin box. That type of thing. When I see the french note pad, reminds me of the french box. I like that they included some of those items in the box. – It would have been nice to see a blank note pad, and colored pencils or water color paints in this box to give it more of the artsy feel. — I still might sign up for this box, just want to see a few more reviews first.

Wow! Interesting, thats great – I guess just used to seeing similar items at the major retail stores made there.

From what I found on the internet, looks like Lily McGee is part of Lady Jane LTD? out of California. Just to me the stuff looks like cheap things you’d find in a hospital gift shop or something. I mean it’s all cute, but I feel overpriced.

I’ve been following the reviews on the net since they launched their gift box. I finally gave in and order a 3 month sub starting with the June box. I wish I ordered the April box!

I noticed comments about it being made in China stuff so I looked up every item to see where it is made which is a variety of places. I also noticed that the purse holder is from 1928 which I love. I made my husband buy me a necklace from them when I saw the Artistry Gift Mother’s day box spoiler was a 1928 necklace. I would had ordered the Mother’s Day box except it was rose themed. I wasn’t sure if there would be a lot of rose scented items.

The credit card case has the advantage of protecting your cards from being scanned. This interests me greatly since I recently dealt with fraudulent charges on my card.

I selected the purse for my June selection.

I should had added I ordered on Mother’s Day since someone posted about the June box possibly being sold out.

There are some cute items in this box, yet for the price point I would expect cuter more artsy made in the USA items. A lot of items are made outside the USA, that does not bother me, as much as the price point, plus the items seem like common ones, that you could find at a Walmart, Target, Kmart, ect. With the exception of the bath salts, cute idea putting them in a cup. When I think of artsy, I think of artisan and hand made, not artsy in design.

Seriously? A purse holder is two dollars at Starcrest, and these notepad sets with pen cost three dollars at Michaels or Target.

I signed up for the June box also because I wanted that scarf. I got $5 off with coupon code springten. I dunno if it still works or not. Can’t wait to get the box.

This looks like a really great idea, love the packaging, but for the most part it all looks like made in China stuff you find in gift shops. It is cute stuff, but no way would I ever pay $50 for the box.

I love this box! I would personally use everything except the bath salts (I’m strictly a shower person.) I particularly love the bag and purse holder – although I would wonder if it’s strong enough to hold my bag. … and the chocolates. 🙂

The box price is a little close to the total value for me, though. It doesn’t leave enough room for value lost by unused items.

I had just started this sub with the May Box which was the “Iced Tea With Me” theme– really enjoyed going through the individually wrapped “gifts!” I believe that the June Box (floral theme) is Sold Out, but we had a choice of a cross-body bag or scarf, both in pretty prints– really looking forward to getting it and hoping that they can continue with the level of fun/quality!
